Staff with an attitude”
One of the younger staff spoke with an attitude but thankfully the more senior staff was there to try resolve an issue. We arrived and was told that our booking through agoda was NOT reflected in their system. Took over 25minutes to settle. They offered us a complimentary breakfast which was very kind. Breakfast venue and food was amazing.

Good establishment at prime location in Athens. Accessible to public transportation; plenty of choices for Food and close enough to Tourist attractions. Modern and has great views of the Acropolis from top floor. Decent breakfast buffet and elevator for hauling your luggages.

Room was very small and breakfast was poor. I only recommend the hotel for being central. Roof top during the morning was beautiful but closed at night.

TOTAL DISASTER”
Very small room, but I can cope with that. The rest was a disaster. I found a big dead cockroach on the floor (dead for days) which means the floor was not cleaned before my arrival, ants on the floor (over the dead cockroach), and mosquitos. I didn't complain to the reception. No need, because I am definitely never going back there. The breakfast was literally not there. One type of really old white bread, margarine instead of butter, no ham, one very bad tasting type of yellow cheese, table without table cloth or anything else on, I would expect all that in a Motel, not in a 4 star (not ever in a 2 star). It is my second time in this hotel, the first was excellent, so I am surprised. But if they reduce the quality from 8 to zero, they should say so (and change the pictures of the "rich" breakfast). Coronavirus is only an excuse. The staff was very kind, but I really had a horrible time in that place, trust me and don't go.

The room size is really small than the picture showing, suggest everyone to look into the size figure; Literally there were dirty yellow spots on toilet seat, I re-cleaned it with alcohol pads; Location is okay; Breakfast view is nice, but the coffee is really bad…

Perfect location”
We got on the train from the airport and got of at Syntagma station where the hotel is just about a minute walk away. Syntagma is the best place to stay and Astor hotel is one of the good price hotel. Since we arrived about 8am, the room was not yet available (we have the impression that this hotel is always fully booked so better book early). Check in staff was very friendly and guaranteed us the best room but only after 12nn. We therefore went on the tour first. Check in staff also very helpful in giving out information on where to go and how to go about. Upon our return, we got a room on the top floor (i suppose the suites) with the view of the Acropolis! It was perfect! The room is very clean, the toilet is also clean and spacious enough. We had a very huge balcony! I recommend this hotel for leisure or business.

we booked 2 rooms at this hotel, 1 for our parents, 1 for me and my sister. both rooms are very spacious, bathroom is nice, very clean, with balcony. breakfast is included, and, comes with an amazing view of the acropolis and the city of athens. perfect for sunset drinks. location is super great, 3 minutes walk to the shopping area, restaurants, bars. it's in syntagma square which is the centre of athens.

For value for money, you can't beat the astor. Central location, walking distance to Syntagma station and generally well known by most taxi drivers, I had no negative experiences. Request a non smoking room as a stale tobacco scent does remain in rooms. But other than that I found no issues. Staff were helpful, aircon and fridge worked. Bathroom was also satisfactory.
