"A regular visitor to Thailand I stayed in the excellent Ambassador Hotel on Soi 11off Sukhumvit this time. I say excellent because the standard is exactly how a €40+ per night 4 star in Bangkok should be.The Ambassador is a big property with many amenities. The reception area is huge and the staff are friendly and efficient. My luggage was taken from the Taxi and appeared in my room within minutes of me entering my room. The initial impression you get when you walk in to the reception area is 5 star but the rooms put it firmly back in the second division. They are not bad but quite basic. Everything works and at this price you can't ask for more. The WiFi is free and strong but does require constant re-entering of passwords which is annoying at first but you get used to it. Room cleaning is efficient and flexible. Long low timber ceiling corridors give it a kind of old cruise liner feel. Restaurants, Bars, Massage studio, Gym, Tailoring shops, health spa and several coffee shops are among it's many features. And of course that great location close to everything. Some of the best restaurants in Bangkok are here. The very expensive but superb El Gaucho Steakhouse, one of 2 in the area, is right next door. For Mexican try the Coyote across the road. And round the corner the Firehouse serves the best burgers in Bangkok. An Aussie Bar also across the road serves up the traditional full breakfast. I would recommend the Ambassador as a budget hotel without hesitation. "

"This hotel was recommended to me by an acquaintance. Even though there are Bangkok hotels which looked more impressive through my research, thought I'd just trust the first hand experience for myself and book Asia Hotel. I would say Asia Hotel is the finest hotel and value for money I have ever stayed. 5 star service. Staff are patient and willing to go the extra mile. They are very efficient in providing what they can to help you. You will not regret it! I am already wanting to visit Bangkok again and Asia Hotel you deserve my business!! Highly recommend. The breakfast buffet is very decent too, I love the fried rice!! Not to mention it is extremely convenient to the main shopping central of Bangkok. Good work and thank you Asia Hotel!"

"I was upgraded to Executive room. Thanks to the ever greeting Reception staffs and over booking of the hotel. The hotel is very close shopping areas. MRT is at the door step. You can take MRT to Shukumvit and then change to BTS to go most of the places in Bangkok. I have stayed in many hotels in Bangkok. I find this hotel very convenient in terms of location. There are some renovations still going on. Once it is completed, it will be an excellent hotel. "

"we stayed in the baiyoke sky hotel in bangkok for one night at the end of travelling around thailand for two weeks. it was a great experience. the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the room was luxurious, the views amazing and the choice of restaurants/food was vast. if you are planning on doing some shopping in bangkok this hotel is ideally situated not far from the mbk shopping centre - great for some bargains. the baiyoke sky does a free shuttle service to and from the centre. one downside was the location - if you wanted to venture out to eat you had to get a taxi as there were no good restaurants within walking distance (although there was a few mcdonalds/kfcs for fast food convenience). having said that, getting a taxi/tuc tuc around the city is so cheap - around 100-150 bhat (£2-3) for a 20-30 minute taxi ride - you can't really complain! although the lobby and bedrooms were luxurious and modern there were some areas of the hotel that are in need of some renovation. for example, the pool/gym area - decorated a bit like a kids zone didn't quite fit in with the rest of the elegant decor. overall, i would recommend the baiyoke sky hotel although book online in advance for better deals as the rates on arrival is very expensive. "I plan to return to Siri Sathorn before I leave Thailand and will make it a base for future visits to Bangkok. Quiet location, but easy walk to shopping, nightlife, Saladaeng Station and beautiful Lumpini Park. You can get a free shuttle too. All staff were very attentive, helpful and delightful. When my adaptor caused a fuse to blow, repairmen arrived within a couple of minutes of reporting it to recception and it was fixed immediately .Buffet breakfast and lunch were great. Gym is well equipped. But the highlight for me was my deluxe room, which was very spacious and comfortable and had a kitchenette as well. I got an excellent deal, which made it extremely good value for money. I visited friends in a much pricier Bangkok hotel and came away feeling I had made the better choice. I will certainly recommend Siri Sathorn to other visitors to Bangkok."

"My first visit in Bangkok with my family. Room is clean. Employees are super kind and polite. I am deeply grateful their service(especially receptionists). Not so loud compare to center, but easy to go palace, special sights. Also, night market, starbucks are close to the hotel and this makes feel like a local. These makes me good experience in Bangkok city. "

"This is my second visit since last year. Showed some improvement at receptionist counter (More attentive and polite). Check in and out was fast, paid deposit of THB2000 for 3 nights by credit card which will be refund when you check out (Hotel in Bangkok need deposit during stay, so is ok for me). Booked Luxury Room at Main Tower, rooms are spacious, clean with stable wifi and clean big bath room with clean bathtub, everything as show in Agoda website. Only downside is the bathroom, very slippery floor, so be careful everyone. (I nearly fell a few times during my stay, hope something can be done before accident happens for other guest). Last of all, this hotel is very close to most shopping center in Pratunam and there are a lot of small night stall outside hotel and famous chicken rice are just opposite of hotel but will need to walk around 15-20 mins to reach nearest BTS. Will still choose to stay here if there's room promotion on my next trip to Bangkok."

"it was our 4th stay at this hotel. as earlier requested, we were accomodated to the same room in which we stayed before smoothly. among many 5 star hotels in bangkok we have stayed,we believe this hotel is located at the most convenient place and best cost performance. their christmas decolation was beautiful too. only one negative experience was that it was not well explained in japanese welcome letter that they charge for guest from outside to use executive lounge during cocktail hour.it only says we can invite one outside guest to the lounge. and it was explained unfriendly when we brought the guest there. so, we ended up to pay 250thb for one bottle of not-cold-enough beer for our guest which we found a bit expensive. else, we did like everything and definitely come back again."

"The Best Comfort Bangkok Hotel is situated in a fantastic location on Sukhumvit road soi 19. The Hotel is great for people on a budget as the value for money it offers is better than you will find anywhere else in my opinion. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the free breakfast is basic but decent enough. The best thing for me was how helpfull and friendly the staff are. We arrived at 6am after traveling from over 12 hours. I was expecting to have a wait for the room but no, they handed us the keys straight away and we could finally relax. This was a great thing for them to do and shows how great the staff are at Best Comfort Bangkok Hotel. I will return here again and again."

The room is big and clean with lot of space and spectacular view from the balcony. Staffs are politely trained, being really informative and helpful. The sky bar is a must visit place althought the food is super expensive. Price of drink is acceptable compare to others 5 stars hotel in bangkok. Breakfast was one of the best i ever had in Bangkok after staying in at least 10 5 stars hotel."

More about Bangkok

Bangkok is the capital of Thailand, and serves as a gateway for this region. Bangkok is served by Suvarnabhumi International Airport , which is one of the busiest and most important travel hubs in Asia, as well as the regional Don Muang Airport, which serves many of the regional airlines. Hotels in Bang Na are popular with travelers making quick stopovers as the area is within close proximity of the international airport.

Bangkok is a diverse and sprawling city without a dedicated central district. Instead, the major activity follows the major roads of Sukhumvit and Silom through the length of the metropolis. Visitors to this city will have endless options for accommodations, shopping, and some of the most exciting nightlife in Southeast Asia.

Getting around Bangkok used to be tricky, but modern infrastructure changes and the use of sky trains continues to make transportation easier.

The cosmopolitan energy in Bangkok is exhilarating, but it's easy to see that this city also plays an integral role in Thai culture and history. No sooner do tourists round the corner of a brand-new skyscraper than they come face-to-face with a centuries-old temple or an eclectic open-air market. The city features many unforgettable sites such as the Temple of Dawn, the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, which is known as the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. Bangkok remains endlessly fascinating and surprising even to its residents. There’s much more to see and learn about Bangkok, and the interactive map on this page is a great way to continue uncovering all the important landmarks, hotels, and attractions of this vibrant city.
