Crete Island hotels & accommodations
Avra is a great resort with great service but I would recommend it more for family trips. We went during the peak season in summer and the resort was filled with families and children. We were 2 couples and we did not really need the private pools in our bedrooms as we were out and about most of the time. The beach that Avra is on is wide, big and clean but not the w...
We came for 4 days just to relax, read a book and enjoy the sun.. I have to say that at first we were in shock of how nice the people and the stuff treated us! and than when we took a look a round it was so amazing! The hotel is isolated and have the best facilities with the best view! a private beach, multiple swimming pools, some are for adults only so no chance o...
Very relaxing stay especially after we obtained the mattress toppers from reception which made the very hard brds much more comfortable! There is not a lot to do in the area but a bus right outside the hotel takes you into Chania which is worth a visit. The food in the hotel was really good .
We came during the winter season so the hotel was relatively quiet and we had the full attention of all the staff present, who were really helpful from the outset. Not only did they sit down with us and provide us with suggestions on the places to visit, they also helped us to arrange all our transportation for the 2 days we were there. The restaurant's food was absolu...
The apartments are beautiful and very well equipped. Having breakfast made every morning is a great bonus. Elina and her staff are just perfect. the air conditioned rooms are haven from the August sun and the pool is big enough to swim properly. We had a great stay- there is lots to do nearby (water parks, golf, open air cinema etc) as well as many beaches but you do n...
Our family of four really enjoyed our visit to Crete and stay at the Aquila Atlantis Hotel. As four adults, we appreciated being close to the main square and restaurants. We were able to walk everywhere. The showers at this hotel were the best! The big breakfast was included and omelets were made to order. We wound definitely stay here again.
A lovely hotel in a perfect location just a short walk from the centre of town and close to a lovely stretch of good bars and restaurants. Well located for parking if you hire a car with street parking available and car parks close by. Very pleasant stay with friendly helpful staff and good facilities. Nice pool with both sun and shade, a small beach nearby and larger ...
the area is not the best to look at especially on the back of the hotel there were abondon bulidings. Next to the hotel there was a house with a pit bull and it didn't stop barking day and night the rooms need a serious renovations especially the bathrooms, our the toilet sit was broken from old age,it was nothing like the photos from the website. The good things its c...
This hotel exceed our expectations, the staff was amazing, the grounds were meticilously clean, and the buffet dinner offered many choices and was excellent.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We stayed in the executive suites which are just to the side of the main hotel. The hotel itself is far enough away from the main town to be peaceful, but near enough to walk to (15mins) for evening meals and entertainment. Whether you want to buzz of new town or the ambience of old town the hotel sits between the two. The hot...
It was a very nice stay with the very attentive staff that helped in any occurrence. The place is wonderful, the only downside is that it's uphill and if you go without a car it can be a long walk. The rooms are awesome and the views amazing. It has been a very good stay and I would certainly repeat
On arrival at this hotel we were told our room would not be available until the next day! We were transferred to another hotel, no where near the same standard and given a small, shabby, sub standard room the worst We have ever stayed in! It over looked a busy road that along with air conditioning not working made it impossible to sleep! The following day we were tran...
Fantastic staff, Sofia at the reception is really excellent. Hotel has very good buffet breakfast. Really nice garden with palm trees, parking private area, and is amazing view towards the mountains too. Only in the hotel you can hear anything from other rooms... which was disturbing. We got some discount by booking, and even more we got room update for free. So all to...
Staff and breakfast - 6 stars! Katherina and "sunday" (greek name difficult - Kyriaki?) thank you! The owner too. Dan, Israel
We spent a week at the Kydon and were wonderfully cared for. Their central location in Chania is a perfect location for visiting various sites and tours on Crete...and their buffet breakfasts are the best we encountered during our 4 weeks traveling in Greece! We can't say enough about the quality of the staff; their prompt and efficient responses to our emails, request...
Centrally located to lovely restaurants and activities in the area. Staff were super friendly and attentive. Definitely will go back. Thnak you so much.
We stayed two nights here and wished that we could have made it longer. The location in the charming old town area of Rethymno was exactly what a tourist would want of a romantic Cretan town. Less overrun than Chania, equally charming and accessible to beaches. The reception was kind and helpful, recommended great itineraries to nearby attractions and beautiful beaches...
The stay was great. The reception staff are a real asset to the business. They are helpful, competent knowledgeable and can not do enough to help. The hotel is beautifully clean, the cleanliness is faultless.Once again well done to the staff. We enjoyed the trips that we arranged through the hotel. I do not have one negative point to make about the hotel and would happily ...
The only negative was the amount of time it took to get back toward the tourist areas. It was a great place to come and relax, get away from it all and hear the lap of the ocean waves.
For one night in Rethymno old town this was a very interesting property. We enjoyed a last night having travelled around western Crete. We had the small room which was adequate for one night. The larger rooms are more suitable for a longer stay. Really pleased we had this experience
Service was subpar and often unhelpful with many extra fees. When I picked a beach resort for a part of our vacation, I thought this place would be a nice retreat at a moderate price given that it's suppose to be a "4 star resort" but we were really disappointed and will never return. So many extra fees --5 euros per day to use the empty lounge chairs across their priv...
Hotel is located just 5 minutes (or less) walk away from Heraklion port and the main “market street”. Food options around the hotel are aplenty. Public buses (bus stop) is just a perpendicular corner from the hotel. My mom and I walked everywhere and it was fun. Staff was polite, helping us to brown bag our breakfast when we had to go out early to other parts of...
Nice quaint hotel at top location. The whole management team were a real pleasure to meet. Will definitely be back.
Excellent and will stay same hotel again if return to crete
We stayed in a large room with a balcony overlooking the Harbour and I'm not sure we could have chosen a better location. Lots to see and do with bars and restaurants on the doorstep. The double glazing kept out the noise late at night and we would definitely stay here again.
There were three of us traveling so we booked a triple room and were pleasantly surprised by the easy and swift check-in, friendly staff, and the size and space of the room itself. There was an extra bed in its own little area and the room as well as the hotel in general was clean, modern, and comfortable. The air conditioner unfortunately was a little on the slow side...
We had an amazing time on Chania thanks to Olga at the front desk! She was extremely helpful and had great recommendations for restaurants. Location of the hotel was great as well. Walking distance to the old port and from the bus station. Would definitely stay there again
A nice hotel near the lovely Bali bey. Had a rental car so the distance to the sea wasn't a problem. It is located up the hills and allows a lovely peaceful view. Very quiet and relaxing. Speaking on Greec, the only Achiless
New hotel with modern rooms and very comfy beds - clearly a step up from what you usually get in this price range. The owners are extremely nice and warm-hearted, so it felt a bit like staying at friends. Just one suggestion: The rooms could do with a bit more storage options (e.g. wardrobe). However, the fresh and airy room design made largely up for this. We will ...
An unforgettable holiday! The room (master suite) very cosy, super-comfortable and spacious and a large terrace with a fantastic view. Quality toiletries, fast wifi, a Hifi and a TV sets guarantee entertainment in the room and are especially important in winter, as the resort is open 12 months a year. Breakfast is entirely home-made and all the fruit, vegetables and eg...
Cheap places to stay in Crete Island
Good location in Malia, very friendly running by family, very clean,2 nice pools and restaurant,I really enjoy, all studios with balcony
The owner is a very nice person, knowledgeable and helpful with any side trips specially to the west coast beaches. The facilities are clean and comfortable beds.
Booked in a panic for a late night, and enjoyed the place so much I stayed another. The facilities served me well, the location was INCREDIBLE, and I enjoyed meeting my roommates. I stayed in the dorm, which opens directly on the street. We shared meals and drank at a table across the way. It was a very enjoyable stay.
We had an awesome stay at Heliotrope. If you can, ask for the top studio as it has the best view but you have to climb lots of steps to get there! Big living area, balcony and room. Only downsides were no cold water during our stay and there never seems to be anyone around to check in or out, or ask for help especially if you don't have a cellphone to ring them. Dimitr...
set on the hillside overlooking the city and sea and its own little villages of shops, restaurants, it was great to relax, by the pool and recuperate. The staff was great and very helpful in every way, and as I had a hip problem at the time they put us in a unit close to the road which was spacious and great views, so thank you very much. Also, great wifi and satellit...
The place is simply wonderful. Not only the (freshly renovated) rooms, the atmosphere and the (awesome) breakfast and traditionally cooked meals, but also (and especially) the hosts where so lovely, we wished, we could've stayed longer. Thank you so much for accommodation :)
We had an amazing time at Villa Diasselo! Banos the owner was spot on and helped with anything we needed. The apartments are a great size and very clean. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay, whether a group of friends like ourselves or a family or even solo. Excellent location also with a supermarket and car rental just around the corner.
We had a great stay at Revekka! The location was great. Just steps to the waterfront where there are restuarants and tavernas. The rooms themselves were spacious, clean, and airy. Our room was a double and it was enormous and very functional. Our little balcony had a peek-a-boo view of nearby mountains. We had an issue when we were checking in, as they overlooked our...
Good budget option. Nice staff and good wifi.
good hotel! nice location near the beach and center!
So glad I chose Konaki for my first night in Crete before embarking on a trip to Elafonissi beach the next morning. A good stopover point and the host waited up for our really late check in.
Despite not being quite what we expected, as the hotel is the village rather than being in a village, our 6 night stay turned out to be very enjoyable. Our room was clean, the staff were all very friendly and helpful and the ambience of the place was outstanding. The pool was a great asset and the outside dining area under the wonderful fig (not olive) tree canopy trul...
I arrived off the Ferry at 6am expecting to drop off my bags, but I was greeted and taken to my room immediately. Imagine that after travelling all night! Nothing is any problem to the friendly owners of Pension Anna. Anna is there with helpful information and delicious Greek delights to share with us. The hotel is attractive and spotlessly clean, light and shining. ...
I cannot express enough how delightful was our stay at Eliros. It's perfectly located: close to beautiful Chania and more "busy" towns like Agia Marina and Platanias. You can get to any of them with a quick bus ride (the bus stop is located at the main street, a short walk from the hotel). If you have a car then you're in a perfect spot to visit the entire west part of...
This was a great budget place to stay while enjoying Malia. The owner was very helpful with advice and tips on where to go in the area. I would stay here again for sure.
Spacious rooms, cleaned on daily basis, well equipped kitchenete including toaster. The pool was nice with plenty of sun decks and umbrellas, never difficult to find a place. There is a little playground for smaller children we have used a lot. The restaurant in the hotel serves very good Greek meals. The only downside is beach in Maleme which is not realy suitable for...
Very nice place. Tranquil and charming. Small business of Kostas and Maria who do their best to make your stay perfect. Beautiful beach is just at hand. Small tavern serving guests very good home made Greek food. We rented two level three bedroom apartments and it was very good combination of price and quality. Will certainly come back there again. Thank you Kostas and...
Very well maintained property and the staff were incredible! Really welcoming and genuinely lovely people. Very nice location on the beach and with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Also, the bus stop was only a couple minutes' walk away.
Our stay was very pleasant. Helpful friendly staff. Excellent pool caters for all age groups. One of the best positions next to Chania town. Thank you.
Very nice place. The room was a good size, with modern furnishings and fixtures, and everything worked. Overall good value.
It was the best budget hotel i have stayed. The hospitality of the owner was excellent. He replied my concerns via email promptly. The hotel is homely I definitely will recommend to friends.
The Eleni is a small family run apartments and you are made to feel part of the family - although the area, Analipsi, is quite quiet there are plenty of tavernas and the family have one across from the apartments called Zorbas, where the food is second only to the service. The apartments are very clean, a good size, quite traditional in style and about a 5 minute walk ...
Niki and Katherina made me feel at home and gave me a lot of tips about places to visit, and things to take into consideration before leaving for my daily excursions. One morning when Niki saw that I was leaving for a day at the beach with no water she gave a big bottle of it to take along with me. The bedroom was very clean and comfortable and had a little balcony wi...
The location couldn't be better. Right next to one of the best beaches on Crete. The rooms have the bare necessity but are cheap and clean. No problems, friendly staff and close to good restaurants. Go there and try to relax because that is what Crete is for.
Location is really strategic a few steps away from bus station, and not far from old harbour. We came too early due to ferry arrival and had to wait for the reception to be open. Otherwise, the staff is good and the room is complete with kitchen and washing machine.
Nice hotel, good staff clean room, breakfast was nice in the garden area rooftop patio.
As ever, the lovely people of Crete make staying at the Axos a pleasure. Very clean and accommodating. Very good value for money and in a nice quiet location on the outskirts of the main Rethymnon town. A nice pool and modern decor with very friendly staff.
When we arrived, wich was late, there was no one there. We had to go to a bar nearby and ask for help, he guided us to their family resturant next door. The appartment itself is of the simpler kind, doesnt really look like the pictures on the booking site, but its ok. But its fair price and sentral location makes up for it. The lady who owns these appartments is th...
Great little hotel, with so much attention to your needs from the family owners Right in front of beach with an unforgettable view. Food is excellent , no need to look for another restaurant. We are a couple starting our sixties and have travelled a lot around the world !!!! Don’t hesitate to book
I can just to recommend.

Very good value with dinner and breakfast included. We never really do "all inclusive" or like to eat in the hotel, but we arrived at 8:45pm on a delayed ferry and were ushered downstairs to ensure we got to eat before dinner finished. Great service, walking distance to everything you need and they have a mini gym - enough for a creative workout!
Great place with great views. Thank you to Georgia and the staff for taking care of us and fix our issue. All the best
Apartment was very modern and nice. The location is just amazing, in the middle of old town, in the street where are the best restaurants and bars in Chania. Our favorite beach was Phalasarna that is 1 hour drive from the accommodation.
The Ionia Suites should be proud of their whole staff team. They are all so friendly and helpful. The beds are comfy although the pillows could be just a bit better. The whole place is exceptionally clean - cleaned by yet more super friendly ladies. The breakfast is good although I would have liked more cooked and fruit options personally. I would definitely stay h...
Eva in particular was amazing and helped plan my entire stay in Crete/Heraklion. The entire resort is clean and right off the beach. I loved staying here and would do it again!
We stayed at Pepi Studios one night on our trip from Chania to Iraklion and we enjoyed the location of hotel. It was in the heart of old town, not too far from beach and Venetian fortress. You can find very nice shops with most known brands from old town of Rhetymnon. Good place to shop quality.
We travelled through Crete and by far, Eli the receptionist was the best we've come by. She went ABOVE and beyond to make our stay special. Her knowledge of places to see and places to eat made our time in Crete perfect. Do not hesitate at all to visit Molos Bay and deal with Eli and if she's not there Despina is just as awesome. Both 5 star in the business!
We spent 13 wonderful days here. Great staff, extremely helpful providing best services available! A very special thank you to Michalis, who to our mind deserves to be praised for his very special attitude to the property he works at as well as his attention to the hotel guests. We shall definitely be back
Inaccessible by car most of the time, ask for parking area jus outside old town
We stayed in the ground floor room facing the beach. The room was a little small but in a fantastic location and very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again if visiting crete in the future
It is 3 star hotel in very good location, near sea and middle of City. Rooms are bit small for 2 person but cozy and clean. Caffe maker and fridge and big LSD TV in room. Wifi was not good in my room. Breakfast was nice, warm and cold fdishes and staff is friendly. I will give 3 star, not 4 star.
You'd find it hard to have a bad time on this beautiful island, but Creta Blue made our stay completely unforgettable. We woke each morning to a hearty breakfast of breads, meats, cheese, and eggs; followed by an indulgent serving of fruit, Greek yogurt and honey. The rest of the day was spent pool-side, admiring the lush gardens and ocean view. Invigorated after a g...
The apartment was clean and very well located. Central but on a side street so quiet and away from the noisy restaurant area. The owner spoke good English and gave us maps. The bed was so hard I found it difficult to sleep. Glad they had the blankets for extra warmth. We only really used it as a base so didn't spend a lot of time in room. A little confusion when we pa...
It took me a while to be able to find this hotel from the bus station, it's a ctually a 10-15 min walk in a straight line, opposite the town center. It's horribly situated, nearly out of town and most people I asked had never heard of it apparently. I found the staff to be unhelpful, polite but not really caring or willing to assist more than the bare minimum. 3 euro...
Really enjoyed our stay from the moment we arrived. We had a bit of trouble finding a way to,the hotel but once there it was fine. The hotel has its own parking which is a real bonus in the town. The staff were brillant, very helpful in her suggestions of where to eat, what to see lovely beaches, villages to visit and interesting trips out. The manager too was very he...
Everything was very good about the hotel. It is located a short walk from the old town. It is in a busy city, so a bit noisey, with a produce market setting up at 5:30 each morning. The huge downside is parking. It was listed as having adequate parking. That meant that the public parking lot was a block away with a fee, hourly, or 24 hours. On Wednesday, the...
This was a wonderful place and we would definitely stay here again. The view is amazing and the staff were very helpful. You do probably need a car to get up here but I think the view alone makes it well worth the effort. I would certainly stay here over the resorts at Agia Pelagia. Terrific value too.
I had a lovely stay in Parthenis and loved the hotel and it's staff/family. I really think that this hotel had exactly the level of service that I wish to have as I do not want to pay for something I don't need. I wanted the sea, the pool, a snack bar, breakfast and a drink at the bar during sunset. This was all there, and I am 100% happy. I recommend the yoghurt + fru...
The cliff, sea and sunset views are so amazing and it is just in front of the doorstep!! how worth it to travel a long way from Heraklion to here!!! Must leave the foot at Sunset Cafe Bar Tarvena which about 5 mins car drive from the apartment, the food and beach won't disappointed you.
It is a good place to relax, with really good dishes, and it is close to 2 beaches (3 min walk). Be prepared for no wifi in the rooms, only in public areas. Programs in the evening are good and quite loud.. :) overall it is a beautiful place to stay in Crete.

We were very satisfied..
Fantastic resort right on the beach but a little out of town. The very friendly and welcoming staff helped make our stay a memorable one with our young child.
Well-located in a beautiful old Venetian villa steps away from the waterfront harbor of old town Chania, Casa Delfino was a perfect place to start out our visit to Crete. The rooms were unique and cozy, and the breakfast homey, set in the beautiful courtyard. The staff were friendly and very helpful!
Fantastic location amongst the shopping area, this hotel was perfect for us. The rooms were nice and spacious--we had a seating area separate from our bedroom. I paid extra for a balcony which was nice and the building has an elevator, which I'd heard is rare for Rethmyno due to the preservation of the Venetian architecture. The breakfasts were our best all trip--cakes...
The staff was friendly from the first glass of orange + pomegranate juice through the final goodbye. Their language competence was excellent and were open to talking with me in my (basic) Greek. The rooms were fine and an excellent value for the money. (I was there in the off-season.) And the beach is just across the (non-busy) street. The town is a short walk awa...
I booked this hotel with seasonal discount. However, all services such as drink bar are not included.Since the price of room was admended thus they offered you a room which far away from reception without any seaview .Old housing decoration and dark made you uncomfortable. The taste and choices of food in restaurant are fair. The location is not good. If you are the f...
well, its was not the very best hotel we stayed in during our vacation...they sell themselves as 5 star but that is debatable. The rooms are very dated and the bathrooms need serious refurb. After our first night in a room with no air-conditioning and a shower that was either freezing cold or scalding hot, we were transferred to a ''better'' room. The staff were friend...
the rooms are very much on the small side and not as luxurious as made out to be in the promotional materials, eg website etc, the beach is pebbly and not well maintained for a 5 star resort, for example do not expect your towels to be laid out for you or the beach to be litter picked. nice touches were complimentary fruit, juice, and bottled water round the pool and ...
An excellent hotel with all facilities at hand including a fabulous sandy beach. Rooms large and well appointed with soft comfortable bed. Both dinner and breakfast excellent with a massive choice of food and attentive staff. The only thing that lets hotel down is its access whilst close to main arterial road access is not simple and with no signposting took a little t...

This place was absolutely fantastic. From the location, to the spacious room and that amazing balcony that overlooked the harbour and lighthouse. I absolutely fell in love with Chania and it will not be the last time I stay at this boutique hotel.

Super beautiful beaches, culture places and cities. The best is to rent a car and do a round trip by car.
We staged in a little studio in Chania. Then moved onto a 5* all inclusive hotel. The studio was cheaper, but both worked out exactly the same overall.
All cities of crete are wonderful and its worth going. I suggest knosos for its historical greatness.
We stayed in Heraklion but should have stayed in Chania, which we found to be very pretty, with lots of restaurants and activities.

My husband & I honeymooned in Greece and picked Crete for our first week. We stayed in the towns of Chania & Rethymnon.
