Best hotels & accommodations in Salvador

The Comfortable bed & other homestyle amenities suited my independent lifestyle to a T. I only regret that the mold stained tile & ill placed toilet in the bathroom destroyed my eco-friendly sensibilities. I recommend that they be addressed by management! Otherwise, a great stay!

This is definitely only a hostel; and certainly of poor standard for the cost of stay. Rooms can only be accessed by steep wooden stairs; and the spartan, cell-like accommodation is unclean. There is nothing modern except the single computer at the front desk for 15 minutes of internet access at a time. The building, on a cobbled street of the old town, is essentially ...

The hotel is located beside the escalator. It is a old building. The hotel has a good view to the ocean. It also close to lots sightseeing. The room is clean and quiet. The internet is slow and they never fix........I talked to the staffs 3 times in different days. They just kept saying will fix tomorrow. Until the day i left, the internet still not working. The breakf...

a very useful point this hotel has parking and is not far from city centre bad points is it is just starting to get dated in the outside lounge there are broken class panels and floor tiles that dont give a good overall impresion i would stay again

The first word that comes to mind when I think of my stay at The Vila Gale Salvador Hotel is dismal! We spent 11 nights at this hotel some during carnival and the rest after. Our room had view of a construction site, even after carnival when there were more rooms available we asked to change rooms and we were told only if we paid extra! The gym was closed for the first...

This was a really good hotel for business travel. It's located in easy walking distance between the beach and conference centre. The hotel itself was comfortable, clean and offered free wifi. The staff were friendly and clearly helpful, but their ability to help relied on our mutual effort in communication, as they only spoke Portuguese. We got by, however. It is quite...

This hotel is a real family hotel with the beach at the opposite of the street. Close to the Hotel you will find various places to eat or just to take a drink. Please watch your belongings!! I was sitting on a terrace one day and took out my sneakers under the table (it was hot). While talking a boy took one of my sneakers away and when I found out that I had only one ...

This hotel is in an excellent location. The rooms are lovely and big...depending in whether you prefer the view over the main square (bit noisier) or a street view (quieter), you may need to book your preference in advance. We had a two year old, but had the main square view and she seemed to sleep through...we had the Nana room, which had a small corridor that was qui...

Location is excellent, very close to the Pelhourino. You do have to negotiate a local road to reach there that is not the most pleasant, but we had no difficulties even after dark and there were always tourist police at the Pelourinho end - just follow advice and don't carry obvious jewelry etc. Room a little small but functional with reliable hot water and supercharged...

Accommodation had a colonial feel to it and was very clean. Our host was very welcoming and although she did not speak English we could manage in our basic French which is much better than our Portuguese! We had a room with an en-suite and a fridge, it was very pleasant although the bed was a bit too hard for our comfort. Breakfast was excellent fresh bread, eggs, f...

The Pousada Encanto De Itapoan Hotel was just what we had hoped for in accommodation near to the beach. A quiet but convenient location that was also very near to the bus route to the popular beaches some 10-15 minutes away. Convenient also to airport; and a welcome relief in comparison to other accommodations in Salvador itself.

Nice and kind hotel service...... and good atmosphere! I can use "Internet Cafe(1F)" from 10:30p.m. to 9:00a.m. without fee and it is very useful to work. Especially I satisfied the price using mini bar because it is the cheapest that I have stayed other hotels(Sonesta, Golden Tulip, Vila Bahia, Calhua) in brazil.

I just stayed 1 night for budget, however, I got the all night of Salvador in the hotel...... beautiful building with a pretty terrace, nice breakfast and restaurant, kind service...... Plus, it is the best location to enjoy safe and fun night culture(dancing, sining and so on) I strongly recommended here to you!

hotel bahia de sol is highly recommended for those wanting a quiet stay in salvador but also near the prominent beaches. it is located in vitoria, a posh district in salvador, 10-15 minutes walk to porto de barra and farol de barra beaches which are one of many attractions in salvador. vitoria also hosts many museums and galeries, which is perfect for those who love to...

I booked Hotel DeVille for a business trip and was pleasently suprised on how nice the rooms were. The beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms size was great. The dining at the hotel was subperb as well as the ammenities (bar, pool table, work out facility, pool area)

After checking in I notified reception that my room safe wasn´t working. After SIX reminders and having waited EIGHT hours they finally fixed the Problem. On the second day the A.C. broke down. It wasn´t repaiared, nor was I offered another room. Staff at reception totally ignorant and fully incompetent. Won´t be staying there again, ever.

The room was looked a bit different than the photo, but was comfortable enough for sleeping. The staff was nice and helpful. The breakfast had a good variety of food, but was half empty both days I arrived, not to mention all the tables were filled with dirty dishes. I think they just need more help during the busier times to keep up with demand.

Its in a great area with easy access to the BARS AND CLUBBING AREA. The Hostel and its staff are exceptional. It provides everything that you need in accommodation. We stayed in a suite room that was immaculately clean, bedding and towels changed every other day. The sea view from the balcony (room 33) was fantastic. Breakfast was totally adequate, continental and sc...

The location to the beaches is fine (walking distance) and alos for business reason good and fats access to CIA. Parking garage and WIFI included in the price. The staff is very freindly and will help, if needed something. Internet connection is fast via WIFI and working well. The restaurant is fine with good quality for reasonable prices. The menue is a little bit sma...

We scored down because of the whole breakfast experience ... Hospitality you expect a smile in the morning ? If not a good morning / greeting in any language ! ... Everything seemed too much trouble for the lady at breakfast ? No bowls or milk for cereals .... An effort to refill coffee pot ... Maybe a TV or music for some background in a room with now Windows and echo...

Very nice and quiet hotel in a bohemian neighborhood in Salvador. It was a bit difficult to find and get to by car due to the many road construction sites all around (Nov.2015). The hotel provided parking which was a plus. Breakfast was excellent with a combination of buffet and a la carte. The rooms are nice but not awesome. We would not hesitate to come back. TIP: we...

Traveler impressions of Salvador
I wouldn't bother staying more than 1 night, other than to access the islands off thecoast (ie. Morro de Sao Paulo).
We found tons of things to do. We went scuba diving with Bahia Dive, saw some wrecks from the late 1800's.

More about Salvador
Salvador sits squarely on the Bahia coastline, an area known for ample sunshine and great surfing conditions. Surfers of the itinerant variety come with board in tow, but everyday tourists can join in by renting a board or signing for a couple of surf lessons. The Guinness Book of World Records considers the local Carnival celebration to be the world's biggest, and hotels in Salvador are busiest at this time. .
Plenty of more mainstream activities are on the agenda. Salvador's historic quarter, Pelourinho, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site overflowing with beautiful churches and houses that date to the 17th century. Leading the way is the Catedral Basilica and the adjoining Atiga Faculdade de Medicina. The latter is a museum that explores the role that early slave laborers from Africa played in Salvador's heritage.
In fact, one of Salvador's most exciting aspects is its rich Afro-Brazilian culture. African influence factors heavily into the local cuisine, giving way to a kind of culinary fusion found nowhere else in the world. Local music is just as exciting, and there are many excellent performance venues lining Pelourinho's cobblestone streets. .
Salvador's Deputado Luís Eduardo Magalhães International Airport is well-connected to the North America and Europe. It's relatively far from town and has its own hotels district. The best way to reach accommodation in Salvador from the airport is by prepaid taxi.
