“Great location close to everything & lovely beach!!”
I booked here for a friend & I to spend 5 days together… her first time in Thailand! This hotel was a great choice because she doesn’t drive a scooter and I wanted everything to be walkable… and boy was it! The 7-11, pharmacy, and several food options are all right out on the street in front on the road. Even better is we could walk barefoot out of our rooms, stroll down the beach, and there are several restaurants. A notable new restaurant is ~15mins down, called Sol Beach and it’s a must visit. Fantastic food & good vibes. But back to my review of Coconut Beach Resort. :) I booked a basic villa for me & gave her the fancy beach bungalow villa. I was happy she had a lot of light coming in and a sea view! Mine was like a dungeon compared haha - but it was cheap and only a few days, I only needed my room to sleep. AC worked great, good water pressure & hot water. Definitely not the nicest room in terms of things being new or having any counter space in the bathroom, etc… but I made do. I wouldn’t stay in that room again but I would recommend the beach bungalow with the big windows and more space if you can swing it, budget-wise. The staff at Coco cafe on the beach was great. Not much English, but they’re sweet and do their best. The soda/blended coffee drinks, panang chicken dish, and sweet potato fries were our favs. The chairs at the cafe aren’t that comfortable IMO but there are some great loungey beach chairs nearby you can move over to once you have your drink. There are also sun loungers by the pool. Wifi worked good enough for us to be online & watch shows and I even did a video call from my phone (in my friend’s bungalow) and it was smooth. Waking up to take a long stroll on [Klong Prao] beach and swim in the calm waters throughout the day was the best part. The sun doesn’t set right on the water here, as this resort is tucked in a little cove so the sun sets over the trees (where Chai Chet Resort is) but you can see it set on the water by walking down the beach a little ways (i.e. if you’re at Sol Beach for dinner). Either way, the water is sooo calm and the sky turns such beautiful colors it doesn’t even matter. It’s paradise!
