Perfect stay and lovely staff”
The Esprit Libre Restaurant & Guest house was an amazing finding. We spent 3 great days there and we were very surprised with the quality of the service. For example, we needed to get up earlier one day to go diving and they provided us breakfast earlier than the opening hours. The restaurant is REALLY good, it was for sure the best food we had in the island. They also have contacts with many people and can organize many activities: diving, car rental, bikes, etc. Don't hesitate to contact them before your stay there (contacts on their website), they will help you prepare your stay and provide you with many tips.

Quiet, Bored”
Quiet, OK for some who want a gateway from busy life. Room cleanliness was OK, breakfast OK too. Swimming pool is small, staff were friendly but not really helpful. Location wise it's far from any good restaurants & night life. Can easily get a bus during the day but the place is dead when night. Need own transport to move around. Had dinner in the Espirit Libre Restaurant during the valentines day as we have no choice & waited for the food 1 hour & paid expensively. There's no apology from the staff or the owner. They seems to be entertaining more to their people. Very bad. Not recommended. There's far more better hotel around the Grand Baie. Definitely will not book here again for next visit.

dont even think to chose this guesthouse! Sheets were dirty, room smells discusting, noisy like you were sleeping in an open bedroom, water in the pool is green of dirtyness, bunch of moscitos everywhere, no security and location is in the middle of nothing. few good words for staff, they were nice and a breakfast is pretty good, the rest i would give an appinion close to zerro! If i will be in Mauritius next time i defenetly dons want to go back in Esprit Libre! For this paradise island you deserve better accomodation! The pictures that you see in commercial are not even close what you will see there in a real life!

Basic Room ”
It was ok hotel , for same value of money you could book much more nicer in Mauritius . Quite far from the sea . Food was ok , as we have realized in Mauritius quite hard to find good place to eat . Room was with bad smell from bathroom , cos of shower , where water was standing all the time . Mosquitos and ants as usual everywhere on southern countries . And we were booking bigger room , at least it looks like that on the pictures ;) but have got really really small one . As usual pictures are different that in real .

Very pretty and relaxed setting”
Was very happy with the stay. The hotel is a little older style, but the outdoor eating, entertainment areas are very stylish, relaxed and welcoming.

Good quiet location if you have your own car”
Modern furnishings but bulky. Metal framed bed and its placement bruised my husband's knee a few time. Practically no one staying or eating there in mid Dec 2017.

Pleasantly surprised by the guesthouse. Felt very welcome and I found the room very luxurious with a “resort” feeling to it. Food in the restaurant is delicious and cocktails well-made

Hotel was completely unstaffed on arrival. Had to rely on other guests to put me in touch with the owner. Rooms lacked basic niceties like kettle and coffee/ tea, which one does expect for this price. Basics like water bottles are overpriced. Beds were uncomfortable in my opinion, though staff did their best to help me with this. A redeeming feature was breakfast, which was really delicious.

Des bons moments à Esprit libre”
Esprit Libre mérite amplement son nom. L'environnement, très bien conçu, est zen et accueillant. Un fond musical apaisant baigne les lieux. L'amabilité de tout le personnel fait que l'on se sent (presque) chez soi. Pour couronner le tout, la table y est excellente. Le chef et son équipe savent multiplier les saveurs et ne négligent jamais la présentation. Bref, notre passage à Esprit Libre restera un souvenir des plus sympathiques.
