I had a great time in Yogyakarta for the second time after 9years. And it's also my second time staying in Duta Garden. The hotel changed a lot for the better. With the new wing having he villa and the old wing are still the perfectly clean same. The area is perfect. The pool is good after a long walked. Internet wifi connection superb! I've always love how gardenie the hotel looked and I would tap Duta Garden as one of the best boutique hotel around. The new reception area at the new wing gives me the impression of Java in the 18th century during the Dutch colony. With antiques decor everywhere! I'm a sucker for antiques and it's just awesome! My second time in Duta Garden still have the same experience of 9years ago. The service is always satisfactory. They are always polite - I guess it'l in them for being polite because the people of Jogja are so refine and that's one for the reason I came back - cakes for tea-time if you're in the room, daily towels changed, rooms made once you're out, the hotel area is always clean, no problem in the room and breakfast is good. The next road parallel to Duta Garden, which is Prawirotaman I, was once a dead street but now it has turned out to be busy with eateries, hotels, spas, antique shops, gift shops, bars and travel agents for travelers. Most of the eateries there are rated best in Yogyakarta on TripAdvisor. So where Duta Garden is located, you'll get the best of most things around the corner, all in the minutes of walk.

This place is very decent, if a little old-fashioned. The decor in the rooms is slightly dated. However, it is clean, with a decent breakfast option and tea served to the room at 5:00 pm every day. This is my second stay at this hotel. I came back for the same reason. A nice, uniquely designed room with a comfortable balcony. The hotel is styled like hacienda with interior like a colony room in a tropical country. This means a large poster bed, a spacious balcony and simple & rough furnitures. I like the friendly staffs conversing very well in English. They are very knowledgeable with Yogyakarta and can provide good recommendation for places to visit. The breakfast is nice. We didn't have buffet breakfast as there were not enough guests (we were there right before the peak period, the Moslem Holiday). Still, I made the same mistake by planning intensive excursions. Hence, I could not enjoy the homy room with its comfortable balcony for a relaxing read. Anyway, another hotel in my list that is worth to stay again in the future. :-)

We stayed 5 nights at Rumah Palagan Guest House and we could have stayed there longer. The staff is SUPER friendly! The small restaurant serves nice food. The rooms and the hotel is very nice. It is quiet. It's good that the hotel has a pool, very cleaned. We were shocked that this place was so cheap! It felt like a 5 star hotel! We had our own small house, which was clean and very comfortable and you can even choose what time and where they deliver a big breakfast for you! Whilst the hotel itself is beautiful, you shouldn't stay there if you want to explore Yogyakarta itself and see the sights of the area, as it's 20km ...We were shocked that this place was so cheap! It felt like a 5 star hotel! We had our own small house, which was clean and very comfortable and you can even choose what time and where they deliver a big breakfast for you! Whilst the hotel itself is beautiful, you shouldn't stay there if you want to explore Yogyakarta itself and see the sights of the area, as it's 20km from the city! If you want peace and beautiful surroundings you must try this hotel!

Feel like home. This hotel was originally a big house, and they change the bedrooms to hotel rooms. The room we were staying was very spacious with 2 twin beds and one single bed. The room is clean, and bathroom has bathtub and hot water. The most surprising element was the enormous size of breakfast that I could not finish. We booked 3 rooms, and there is only 7 rooms in the homestay. Our room had what I think was an extra-king size bed. My 4 year old and husband and I slept in it very comfortably! We also had our 5 month old in the travel cot (we brought our own cot). So the room was big enough to look after us all! Each room has its own bathroom, which are all modern and have hot water....We booked 3 rooms, and there is only 7 rooms in the homestay. Our room had what I think was an extra-king size bed. One of the rooms my father slept in smelt like a cat had peed in it, they were quick to try get rid of the smell by mopping and spraying, and it seemed to go almost. I know, had we asked, they would have swapped rooms for us. My other friends had a twin room, but asked to go into a queen bed room on the second night, and they happily accommodated as it had become available. The laundry service is great, it takes a day and only costs rp4000 a kilo (USA $0.40c). The breakfast is simple but delicious. We had the Nasi Kunyit once which was delicious, but I prefer western breakfasts, so the rest of the time I had the eggs on toast which was great, complete with mushrooms, onions, tomatoes etc. And all with fresh OJ. It is close to everything, but far enough out of the city centre so it is quiet. They have a driver/car service for only $55 a day (12 hours, includes driver petrol parking fees etc) which we had everyday and was good. I live in Indonesia and can highly recommend this place. I have stayed at 5 star hotels, and budget, and this place is the best place I have stayed in. My daughter swam in the pool everyday, we hung around and read books, played cards, went out at our leisure and ordered from their delivery menus for lunch and dinner which also was delicious (we always ask for 'tidak paket sasa' which means 'no msg', and there was no problem) and the juices always super fresh and not much added sugar (gula) if any. Staying here was the highlight of our trip to JOgja and we will recommend this place to everyone!

What a wonderful place! One of a kind. We had the feeling we were back in time and history. It's a part of the Kraton Palace complex, it used to be a residence for the princes and princesses. The people who run it and the staff were so kind, friendly and attentive! Somewhat basic facilities, which in our opinion was the main charm, quiet and very peaceful. To be honest, I was having the dilema should I keep it secret or give it the positive review this place really deserves!

i stay at casa raffles hotel for 3 night when school holiday started. you know yogyakarta is well known for lack of hotel room supply in school holiday. i had difficulties booking hotel room a month before holiday in one of my favorite yogya hotels (ibis, mutiara, rumah boedi). so, i booked a junior suite at casa raffles. when first arrive i was dissapoint a bit be...i stay at casa raffles hotel for 3 night when school holiday started. you know yogyakarta is well known for lack of hotel room supply in school holiday. i had difficulties booking hotel room a month before holiday in one of my favorite yogya hotels (ibis, mutiara, rumah boedi). so, i booked a junior suite at casa raffles. when first arrive i was dissapoint a bit because there is no car park , there is only garage that can only fit 2 cars. so the last day i stayed i parked the car on the street. actually this place is famous for backpacker, it is a big house converted into backpacker hostel. but they have 4-5 junior suite rooms. the room is what supprise me, it is big and the bathroom is enourmous! the size of bathroom is 4x10 meters. the location is also great, 10 minutes walk to malioboro, and you can also go to kraton yogya walking because it is near (cut trip via small road). becak, food stalls are everywhere!!

We arrived at the Maharani Guest House only 3 days after Gunung Kelod erupted. Yogyakarta was covered in volcanic dust. Shops and restaurants were still closed. The airport would be closed for another 3 days. We were the only guests. The room we were taken too very was large, clean with a fridge. The bathroom was a shower area and toilet in the one room. Large floor to ceiling windows stretched across one wall looking out onto the garden and swimming pool. I mention the ash because it covered everything outside, the pool was black with ash, the car park was covered and the street was about 3cm deep. Inside the room at the guest house though, it was spotless. We can't give any feedback on the food, they just weren't ready to start cooking, ash in everything. To give them a chance we ate breakfast out. Nearby on both Tirtodipuran and Prawirotaman there are many restaurants and other places to eat. The female front desk staff on during the day are efficient and attentive, the male staff on in the evenings and early morning, probably because of the amount of cleaning they had been doing, were indifferent and uninterested. Great laundry centre across the road down a small gang.

The owner got up at 3.30 am to making us breakfast because we booked a sunrise tour to Borobudur. The son of the owner asked us whether we want to have dinner in a good italian restaurant and drove us there. It wa...We really loved staying at Sabana Homestay. The family is so lovely and took care of us all the time. They are such friendly people and their kids are cute. The owner got up at 3.30 am to making us breakfast because we booked a sunrise tour to Borobudur. The son of the owner asked us whether we want to have dinner in a good italian restaurant and drove us there. It was a nice dinner with him. Unfortunately we missed our flight, so we arrived one day later. But changing the booking was no problem. They also offer an airport transfer for same price than a taxi. You should do that because the place is not easy to find. Just send them an email. The rooms are comfortable and clean, with everything in it you need. The city centre (touristic area) you can reach easily with a Taxi or a Riksha (10 minutes). We really enjoyed our 3 nights at this place and can recommend it to everyone who wants to spend some days in yogyakarta.

The setting along the eastern edge of Tembi Village is beautiful, and we saw lovely sunrises over the rice fields each morning after being awakened by the roosters. We enjoyed walking through Tembi Village and the surrounding area. The hotel is approximately a 30-minute (50-70,000 IDR) taxi ride from central Yogy...We stayed at the Omah Tembi Homestay for a week in July. The setting along the eastern edge of Tembi Village is beautiful, and we saw lovely sunrises over the rice fields each morning after being awakened by the roosters. We enjoyed walking through Tembi Village and the surrounding area. The hotel is approximately a 30-minute (50-70,000 IDR) taxi ride from central Yogyakarta. While our stay was excellent overall, there are several things to note: We had booked both a "standard cottage" and a "standard super bungalow," but there did not appear to be any actual difference between the two in terms of size or comfort. The breakfast was free and promptly served, but lacked variety and flavor. Finally, the front desk staff were very nice young ladies, but were not at all helpful in providing information. We had much better luck walking down the road to the D'Omah Hotel Yogya to request taxis and find out directions.

The room was comfortable, the grounds were beautiful, the location was perfect for exploring Yogya, the small staff was helpful, and the price was affordable. Meals were served at a small patio facing onto a garden area. The tasteful restoration and furnishings -- nothing was overdone -- gave a genuine sense of the traditional Javanese combination of elegance and modesty. There are many local Indonesian restaurants and food stalls within walking distance. Transportation (becak, taxi, bus) to tourist sites is available on the street. The train station is 10-minutes away, and the airport is a 30-minute taxi ride away. Beaches are only 24 kilometers to the south. I have already recommended this little gem of a guest house to friends. It marries character, comfort, and convenience in a small, four-room package.

When we left this place, my boyfriend said 'That's the best hotel I've ever stayed at.' For the price, the room, facilities, food, staff, and services were all unbelievable. Especially the staff! They were so friendly and helpful. They booked taxis, rentals, drivers, tours, and a night at the Ramayana ballet for us! We couldn't believe how cheap it was to rent a motorb...When we left this place, my boyfriend said 'That's the best hotel I've ever stayed at.' For the price, the room, facilities, food, staff, and services were all unbelievable. Especially the staff! They were so friendly and helpful. What a budget friendly guest house! It's very close to my brother's wedding venue at UPN Auditorium Hall. I booked a room for 2 days stay for my in-laws. The staffs were very nice and friendly. The room was so compact, but clean and tidy. I felt uncomfortable with the semitransparent-glass bathroom door. The woman who runs it is so sweet and helpful, she let us keep our bags there and hang out without booking a room when we did our overnight hike up Mount Merapi, which she also booked for us. The place is super clean and homey, free water refill and free tea, coffee and toast. There TVs, aircon, wifi and hot showers. You can pay 25,000 ...We absolutely loved saying here! The woman who runs it is so sweet and helpful, she let us keep our bags there and hang out without booking a room when we did our overnight hike up Mount Merapi, which she also booked for us. The place is super clean and homey, free water refill and free tea, coffee and toast. There TVs, aircon, wifi and hot showers. You can pay 25,000 to use the pool at the neighboring hotel for the day which is really nice and the location is great - further away from the touristy areas but there are lots of good restaurants and cafés. We ended up staying way longer than planned in Yogyakarta mainly because of how much we love this homestay!

I totally love this homestay! Everything are awesome..the room, the facilities, the staff are tip-top! The down part is the breakfast which is not that great but ok (anyway, love the tea though). I stayed in this guesthouse for 3 nights and was nice. Quiet place to rest after my tired days. Though there are only 3 rooms for rent and I was the only guest to stay at that time, but nothing worried about, unless you are a kind of person who's easy to get scared. On the first day I arrived in the evening, he took me directly to my room without any registration things, and welcome me to use any of facilities in the room and let me to take rest. He said it's ok and I can tell my booking ID just by the next day. Overall the room was nice and exactly look like in the photo, with comfortable bed, AC, fridge, flat TV, wardrobe, dressing table, toilet, hot water, everything worked well. I didn't experience something as on someone else's review which they had to pay for using towel and other toiletries. I was using everything provided in the room for free

Superb. Will coming back with family and friends. They only have 5 rooms and all rooms are clean and cozy. You will feel like you live in your own home, or you stay in a friend's or relative's house rather than in a bussiness establishment. Breakfast were nice and personal. No coffee or tea in breakfast but it was no problem since I got a nice breakfast in galery-like room with traditional music and bird singing. I hope I have a house like this one. Thank you for the owner to make his/her special residence as a guest house.

I found the hotel to be strategically located. It's within 15 minutes walk from the city center (Malioboro, the Palace, etc.), that if you can stand the heat of Yogyakarta. There ware various food stalls along the street, a very convenient alternative to more expensive restaurants. I really like the hotel architecture. You wouldn't believe that such a beautiful wooden resort style guest house existed in the midst of kampong. One warning though, the stairs of the hotels could be challenging for children as it may be dangerous, but overall we had a child staying with us (5 years old) and he found the guest house to be fascinating to explore. The facilities that the hotel were also a bargain for me. We paid Rp 380,000++ and we got a bathtub, cable TV, wifi, kingsize bed, and breakfast. That's reasonably cheap for me. I would have expected that with similar facilities, I had had to pay at least twice of the rate. But I was lucky to have a discounted rate (from Rp 900,000 something) and a further insider deal from Agoda. Hats off to Agoda! The staff were really friendly. We arrived an hour earlier and they allowed us to check-in. They were also very helpful as we had to leave latter than the check-out time and they let us hanging around the guest house common room. I would recommend this guest house to friends and most probably stay again in the future.

I arrived In Yogyakarta at another hotel. It was awful. After a couple hours of frustration I found this place on Agoda and booked it. I took a meter taxi near by, and walked around. It is hard to find. If you go past normal business hours it will be very tough. The night security did not speak any English and could not direct me over the phone. Probably the most comfortable bed in Indo so far. Acceptable wifi, very hot water, and amazing customer service. For $13 it was a steal. I stayed three nights. Since I checked in so late I slept in. When I woke up, Yusuf offered to show me around. I didn't go to those stupid temples at something like 250k rupiah a pop. Yusuf showed me all the local food. Over the course of two days (maybe 13 hours) we tasted and tried over 30 plates of food. All the local specialties. He drove the motorbike and I helped look up places on my google maps. He helped me find local made bathtub Arrack, buy mangosteens... I wanted for nothing. Yogyakarta is a great relaxing little spot and was a delight after the hustle and bustle of Jakarta. Stay here, rent a motorbike, and enjoy!

A friend recommended Omah Garuda Guest House and now I will recommend it to anyone visiting Jogja. The entire place is very clean & comfortable. The house is in a good location - quiet and peaceful but also within walking distance to food/coffee, shopping, etc. And best of all, the staff are friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We were very happy with the Borobudur/biking...A friend recommended Omah Garuda Guest House and now I will recommend it to anyone visiting Jogja. The entire place is very clean & comfortable. The house is in a good location - quiet and peaceful but also within walking distance to food/coffee, shopping, etc. And best of all, the staff are friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We were very happy with the Borobudur/biking tour we booked through the operator they recommend, too. Thank you for the pleasant stay - we really felt at home in Jogja thanks to you!

I would say I was totally impressed by Ipienk House. It started even before I reached Yogyakarta. Called the property a day before to ask for pick up at the train station. The staff was friendly and helpful. What shocked me was I was picked up by a Mercedes Benz. The driver was helpful in giving suggestions of places to visit in Yogyakarta. However, If I may suggest, maybe it could add more options for the breakfast or giving alternative menu. I will definitely come back here.

The location not so far from Tugu station, malioboro, trans jogja and beringhajo market. The bed pillow n blanket so comfortable. They had nice bed bunk with 100% excellent privacy, clean bathrooms. The space between other beds were wide wher...First time i booked a hostel in Yogyakarta and i I chose Wake up homestay. I was amazed by their service..and how the hostel is. The location not so far from Tugu station, malioboro, trans jogja and beringhajo market. The bed pillow n blanket so comfortable. They had nice bed bunk with 100% excellent privacy, clean bathrooms. The space between other beds were wide where u can't find in other hostel, they also provided a locker to keep my belongings safe. The free trip they made for the guests to the waterfall totally unforgettable, i hope wake up homestay can be well-known for those who wants to stay in Yogyakarta. 🙏🏾🍁
