Where to stay in Historic District
Historic District hotels & accommodations

This is my second stay at Southern Oaks Inn and it won't be my last. Everyone on the staff is super friendly. They serve a fabulous breakfast every morning. And the location is great. You aren't in the historic area but you are àbout two minutes away via a back road. I can't say enough about this hotel and I can't wait to go back!

The visit was nothing short of fantastic. Staff were very professional, breakfast offered a very large variety of food and the location in the heart of the historic district was perfect for a two day getaway. On our next visit I would request a larger supply of tea for in-room tea enjoyment.

The hotel us walking distance to all you want to do in the Historic District. Good restaurants in walking distance also. The young ladies at the counter were very pleasant. Rooms you can tell are old but well maintained, my only complaint was the strong bleach smell when we first got into the room, but other then that we enjoyed our stay there.

We have stayed at this location previously under a different franchise name, but this time was so much better. The room had been completely made over with tiled floor throughout, new paint work ( interesting method of separating room functions through paint colour change) and beautiful walk-in shower, perhaps one of the best we have found. Staff friendly and efficient....

There were no surprises when we checked in what I saw online is what I saw when I walked in everything was clean and basic and nice. The young lady at the desk that night we saw the rest of our week she was quite enjoyable and very informative. The rooms were clean and well-kept. There's a wonderful restaurant right across the street the Le pavillon absolutely wonderfu...

This hotel is located right by the 'Fountain of Youth', 15 minute walk to the Historic district. The receptionist was really good and the maintenance guy fixed our blocked sink quick as you like. But it really is in need of a renovation, badly! The poor cleaning staff just cannot get it clean, just walking back to the bed after a shower made the soles of my feet dirty ...

Housekeeping needs improvement. The room needed a good thorough cleaning to include carpets, doors, and air vents. There was hair left in the sink and other places from previous guests. The linens were clean, but there was no duvet cover (or sheet) on top of the duvet. You can tell that the most recent rounds of renovations were done poorly. Rust, poor paint jobs, l...

Excellent b& b with friendly staff. Champagne and nibbles on arrival plus information on sight seeing as requested. Ground room floor very comfortable. Would have liked luggage rack as our bag had to go on the floor. Position for walking around town and eating out excellent.
