Hotels near Ao Khai

For 70 US dollars my family of 4 got a night in a suite with a king and two singles in a semi-divided room. Shower OK, you can tell a lot about a hotel from its rooms' showers. There was a nice pool area on the 2nd floor (more on that later) and the beach was across the street. The breakfast was good, 3-star fare. The best things were a fairly non-populated beach (a little dirty but not off-putting) and the seafood stalls and restaurants on it. One could eat fantastic fresh seafood for weeks without trying everything, and at very fair prices. One is saddened by the lack of life in the hotel; my guess is that it was built during the mid-90's boom and then saw itself crash in 98. There is a sports bar with no TV or bar in it and banquet rooms that may get used a few times a year, if that. Friendly staff, though. Finally, the one true black mark was my discovery that the pool (2nd floor) had gaps next to it to accommodate palm trees. One of these gaps was UNGUARDED and my 4-year old son was jumping into the pool next to a full story drop within a foot of his jumping point. I was in the pool with him and did not see this danger until I looked at it from a different vantage point. Aghast, I informed management immediately and the manager said it would be cordoned off. I plan to return to the area and am curious/hopeful enough to say I will check up on this within a few months whether we return to the hotel or not. Had a few nightmares that night.

We cannot recommend the Rayong Marriott hotel highly enough. The most child friendly dining, pool and play facilities ever seen in a hotel. We spent our wedding anniversary there and the staff surprised our room with roses, balloons, wine, chocolate and a card from all of the reception staff. Truly a special occasion. The Rayong Marriott staff went above and beyond catering for us from start to finish and we sincerely cannot thank them enough. The best hotel experience we've ever had. Book the ocean view with the lavish breakfast. Happy hour at each restaurant/bar and enjoy the infinity beach pools. Special thanks to Julia Gerhard for liaising with my friend Gemma for the elaborate surprise and Khun Chanjira for the splendid chocolate dinner after dinner. Khun Ninpradab, the front office manager who oversaw the whole priceless experience and we sincerely appreciate their hard work, professionalism and personal touch.

This was one where I was so reluctant to leave on my business trips. The others, some, I can’t wait for morning to come and check out. For their weekday price, for the comfort level and functionality of the room, for the name Centara, it was an extremely worth well bargain. I will not get such matching levels of services, amenities and enjoyment of being pampered by a well maintained environment in other hotels this region. The view from my Superior Ocean Facing room was awesome. In between my frantic typing on my keyboard, should I needed to relax, I had only to walk out the balcony to reset my un-focused mind back into its stable state. The breeze, the sound of ocean waves, there was no sound of traffic nor noisy crowd. For this hotel was a 50km drive from Rayong, but it will be worth the trip and return I will. Seclusion but without the lack of attention like other hotels do. Meal wise, I enjoyed dining at their pool bar just off the beach. There was a glitch when dessert was served, just a small one. Creme Brulee was frozen at the core, I could hear ice crystals crackling when my spoon dug in. This was further confirmed when I thought I was eating sorbet. They kindly re-served me another one when I voiced out my concern and had to convince the staff that Creme Brulee is not an ice cream with a hot crusty top. My second Brulee was, well at least not frozen, I could tell they tried to warm it up. However, the food & beverage department side of my brain was totally confused if I was having dessert or breakfast. Creme Brulee had a texture of scrambled eggs. My confused brain was fortunately reset to the proper state in the morning where I truly enjoyed their excellent breakfast. Fully re-charged, I was back on the road, reluctantly much that was.

It is my first time that i chose to stay here. I would say among hotels that i have been around the world this is one of the best hotel!It was my first time in Rayong so i completely have no idea about good seafood restaurants or cheap local market place so i told this to staffs there ,they suggested me so many places to try out. I'm glad that this kind of service still exist because staffs there made u feel like home they give u the best service beyond my expectation, helpful,friendly and all.i would recommend this hotel for those who need to enjoy the excellent atmosphere of real peace, and privacy! do not expect nightlife and all loud music and fun! Mostly what i do there is sunbahting listenning to the wave at thebeachfront of hotel or walking along the beach if u get bored swimming in the large and variety of pools for kids and adults as well as swimming in the sea. I would absolutely go back there!!!:)

We stayed there for one night on our road-trip along the coast. The resort is located quite far away from cities, so best is to have your own transport. Room was spacious and clean. We enjoyed staying there and to refresh in the pool before heading further. Can't imagine staying only at the resort for longer because of the limited activities in the area. If you are just looking for a quiet place to relax then go there. The restaurant offers a breakfast buffet.

Although this hotel may have seen better days, it was clean and comfortable. The view of the ocean from my 4th floor corner room was unbelievable. I had the best internet connection as they had separate wifi on each floor. Across the street was a beautiful beach and some excellent restaurants. There is no elevator, so if you can't climb stairs be sure to ask for a lower floor.
