Hotels near Imperial Plaza

This is a new hotel and probably the best in the city of Vung Tau. It lives up to its claims of being opulent as you can see the grandeur and old world feel once you step inside. The rooms are beautifully furnished with hi-tech safety door locks. The pool area is large so it doesn't feel crowded even if there are several people swimming. The bridge leading to the beach area is a plus especially for guests with kids. However, there are still things to improve on. The staff has limited english language skills so it is hard to communicate with them at times. Also, the breakfast buffet could use more variety (we also noticed a dead fly on the peanut butter and the coffee served was lukewarm -- when we asked for hot coffee, they immediately gave us such). Also, the hotel should provide umbrellas to guests. We were stuck in the imperial plaza (just beside the hotel) for about an hour due to heavy rains and the store could not lend umbrellas to hotel guests. The store is just a 2 minute walk to the hotel. There is no covered walkway connecting the two although the imperial plaza is possibly owned by the same company which owns the hotel.

We went in November 2018 for just two days. I did look at The imperial Hotel but since both are so close the location was not a factor. The fact The Imperial Hotel wanted extra for the breakfast and the Malibu didn't was the deciding factor in the end. I'm so glad we choose the Malibu as the facilities and staff were brilliant. the breakfast I mentioned was top class. Everything you could imagine was on offer. Too much really. But well done to the cooking staff for providing such a lot of items for a breakfast! When we left the dining room the staff stood at the door and wished us a good day and genuinely meant it. Such well trained staff a credit to the hotel and their training. Would I go back. 100% yes. We went on to Phuket (Thailand) to a nice hotel. It wasn't as good as the Malibu yet cost far more. If anyone is reading this review I completely and passionately can say book this hotel you will LOVE it!!

For years, the only 5 star option in Vung Tau was The Imperial and i was really happy to see a Pullman locate there so i can have different option. The price in Pullman was competitive too so we decided to book 2 rooms for my group of friends. When we arrived around 12-1pm there was a large group tour (more than 5 tour buses outside) checking-out so we couldn't even find our way to reception counter. Perhaps hotel can provide group check out in different area to improve check-in/out experience for other guests. After we left for lunch at the mall next door, we came back and check-in proceed quickly. The room was superb, comfy bed, great amenity but i was not happy when they showed they welcomed guests via TV screen, they put wrong name, my friends weren't really happy with this so i called reception and was informed once it showed on TV, i couldnt be changed or inout new one. I didnt have breakfast but i ordered the food at the restaurant and it was one of the best dish i've ever tried in Vung Tau. The staff was helpful and friendly too. We came to Vung Tau because of the beach and cant say how disappointed i was when i found out the hotel didn't have private beach area. The other 5star hotel, they have excellent beach club. I dont really need a beach club, just a private area with sun beds. The pool also let us down, very bad design. In era when every pools built with infinity concept, this pool reserved old fashion style. Other times, i've chosen Imperial because of their beach and pool facilities. Hopefully, Pullman can fix this soon as i like staying in reliable global .

Positives: It's a new hotel, so the premises are very clean and quiet. The room was spacious, well designed and my wife and daughter (age 7) were comfortable. Bathroom was very clean! Linens were changed daily and room service staff and receptionists were very polite and helpful. In-room water, coffee and tea were free - nice bonus. The location is about 10 minutes walking distance from the main beach strip and it's centrally located so easy access to city restaurants and hot spots. Negatives: 1) We had a car, but they don't have sufficient car parking space. Either they keep calling you to move your car so someone else can get out or you leave your car keys at reception and they move it for you. Neither option is ideal. 2) If you like to watch some good HD quality channels at night while laying in bed after a long day of sightseeing and beach play, this is not the place. Cable reception was shotty at best and no international sports, news or movie channels. 3) Breakfast: One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was the Agoda reviews on the food - many said 5-star quality. I beg to differ - firstly, there was no buffet they entire 3 mornings we were there, why, not enough guests to warrant providing a buffet spread. So, we were given limited options - Pho, Bun Bo, Stir-fry noodles, or Eggs / Omelette - all of which were, while edible, not the 5-star rating we were expecting - oh well. 4) Smoothies - Ordered a coconut smoothie and got chopped up coconut pieces in some cold water. I own a restaurant, and we sell smoothies, so I know what I'm talking about. We simply returned them and got our money back, only to get a sour-puss face from the staffer, lol - no apologies, or can we try to make you another one, just a sour face. 5) They advertise a jacuzzi up top the building - nothing of the sort Conclusion: Value for money paid - ok - I'd go back. If they'd change some of the small details - it would be great.

We often go to the Imperial next door but this time we chose to stay in a more affordable hotel and it was very pleasant. The porter greeted us and took our bags to our room. The check-in was efficient with plenty of English and things looked good from the first impression of the lobby. Our room had a lovely view over the sea and back over Vung Tau city and the mountains. Everything looked clean and well maintained. The swimming pool was well managed with a young guy watching the kids and I ordered a couple of beers watching my daughter enjoy herself. The breakfast has no cereal but there was plenty of eggs , toast and meat as well as salad. I do find the Imperial a bit pretentious with all the fake Regency paintings and statues. The Sammy has all the facilities without the cost and the phoney environment. I have no hesitation in recommending this place for a pleasant few days ar Vung Tau

The hotel was very modern and clean! Pool was great too, there were no beach chairs available at the pool for tanning but we made it work. There isn't a whole lot around the hotel. There is a mall less than 10 min walk from hotel but not much in there. There is another mall located further, roughly a 25 min walk. There seems to be more restaurants/ options in this area. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful

This hotel quite cheap with a new building. Clean and nice interior at the room. Fast internet through wifi. Nice bathroom and convenience bed. They service us so well. When we arive here the room just clean and then they send us the fruits as the compliment. This hotel has a best view to the beach. Right in front of romansa restaurant. This hotel also has a simple seafood restaurant right on the next hotel building. The foods are not expensive but with a good quality of seafood as well as good in taste. You will have more choice also at night by the seafood stall along the street next to hotel building and accross the street. In the afternoon just accross the street to the beach and find many seafood there. Delicious and cheap. While the weather is rain, this hotel will provide you umbrella at the receptionist. And if you just want to go arround, you can also go by vinasun taxi that always standby in this hotel or jist rent motorbike in this hotel. In short, green hotel is the best 3 star hotel that i ever stay in vungtau.

Went to Gio Bien for the weekend. Had booked a room with sea view but hotel claimed Agoda had reserved a room with street view. Agoda tried to solve the problem but to no avail as the hotel was full. We stayed at the assigned room. Room was not bad. Shower was not working, but it was fixed as soon as we called reception. Clean, quiet, excellent location, nice buffet breakfast, quick check out. One of my friends forgot his iPad charger. We called as soon as we got back to HCMC, hotel said they’d check and call back but never called back. Called again the following day, same promise, same result. Good hote, just don’t leave anything behind or you’ll never hear from them again.

It's near Lottemart - very convenient for those who do not prefer packing but picking up things while traveling. Located near Pullman hotel, Malibu hotel and The Imperial hotel - very quiet. Near the beach but can not go directly to the beach since there are some business running. Near Vuvuzela Vung Tau and Tho Trang park, night market - good for jogging around. Far from center of entertainment. Every rooms has window but that does not ensure the view. In my case, the staff confirmed for window but it turned out our window was open to a brick wall which was quiet frustrating and disappointing.Lighting was not good enough - a bit dark for my taste but acceptable. Hot water was not working. Price of snacks served in rooms is acceptable. All in all, I would rate 7.5 and consider going back with a garden view room.

This hotel, a few seconds walk from the back beach (the main beach in Vung Tau) is more than satisfactory. There iare no dining facilities, so you have to eat out for all meals, but the hotel is surrounded by eateries....some very good, others not so.. It is exceptionally clean with beds and towels changed daily - a big plus for me - and as we had a baby with us, nothing was a problem for the hotel and their staff. I would return here again if wanting to be near the beach, but a little far to walk to the city centre and night life. As I said earlier it is catering for beach lovers not clubbers!

Firstly, there were some minor problems with the room. But the management took steps to improve our stay which was very nice. The apartment hotel has a lot of plusses but there were some minuses. The Agoda ad they had mentioned king beds but that was inaccurate. There were only Queens in the room. Easily corrected. Our one bedroom was spacious and clean, the kitchen was not yet kitted at the time of our stay. So no dishes, cookware or cutlery available. No ovenette or microwave. I was told all those would be provided if we booked for an extended stay. I found that a bit odd. There were no hooks in the bathroom so you couldn't hang anything. And I find it perplexing that the shower stall had no ledges areas to put toiletries. I'm sure though, they will fix that. But overall our stay was comfortable. The mgmnt, upgraded our booking to a double bedroom at no charge for the error on the king bed issue which was very good. I wouldn't mind coming back to stay again.

Dai An Hotel was my first experience with Agoda. My family felt satisfied with services provided by the hotel. The hotel is newly built. Prices for laundy was reasonable. All staff were very friendly and helpful although they did not know much about the local restaurants. The location is fine, just 200 metres far from the Back Beach, good enough for us to walk to the beach when we did not want to use the hotel's car. The surrounding is quiet. If you like a busy and noisy place, you should not stay in Back Beach area. We were advised not to try restaurants on the same streets as those were considered as racketeering. There is a good cafe and bakery near the hotel, about 500 metres far from the Hotel, named Garden Cafe, with big garden, nice view, and okay cakes. If you want to use taxi for a long drive, I recommend you to use GPS (if you have a smartphone), as taxi drivers tend to take long ways. We were cheated by a Mai Linh Taxi (a famous one in Vietnam).

We were not happy with the room we were initially booked into due to no sofa and all windows having no natural light because of proximity to neighbouring buildings. However once we were moved to a room higher up in the hotel, we had a sofa and reasonable light and air flow through barred windows. No plumbing under the bath/shower meant the water ran all over the bathroom floor to reach a drain hole on the other side of the room. The kitchen is not usable with no supplies. The staff are helpful at reception and in the restaurant although they do not speak a lot of English.

My time here was great. The staff was very friendly. I was shown a number of rooms to choose from. The best one unfortunately could not get the electric to turn on. The breakfast was standard Asian breakfast buffet of rice, soup, noodles, Vietnamese sausage and other items. I was having a problem getting my Thai baht exchanged for Dong and they exchanged it for me at the official rate unlike most banks. The only downside was the location. I am not much of a beach person so I would have preferred to have stayed in town.

I stayed 1 month in Vung Tau in this Hotel (2 weeks through agoda). The staff is young, friendly, helpful and full of ressources. The owner arranged a Bus to the HoChiMin Aiport, or drove me in Vung Tau and help me buy/bargain a bicycle in the heart of Vung Tau. During the month I had a lot of requests/questions and they took the time to please me with constant great smile. All rooms have TV, aircon, fan, bathrooms. I definitively recommend this place. And I will come back.

They do not speak English, and they have cable TV *sometimes,* which is not what their ad claims. They insisted for reasons they could not articulate upon keeping my passport behind the reception desk, and when it was returned to me (reluctantly, for some reason) upon checkout, it was soaking wet. The room was covered in mold and cobwebs. There was a clothing bar in the wardrobe which was too large to accommodate hangers and therefore useless. There was one functioning outlet in the room. I will say that the staff was very pleasant, but the hotel itself was very subpar and they do not deliver on what they say they can in their ad. I would not stay here again.

I stayed this hotel with my friend. This hotel is locating near Bai Sau beach, it's just 3minutes by walk. And there're many local delicious restaurant near the hotel. Hotel staff couldn't speak English, but they were kind and friendly. This hotel is not specially clean and new, but enough to sleep. If you are looking for some cheap hotel, I recommend this Cao Bang Hotel.
