If you want value for money, this hotel is bang for the buck. Its cheaper than other 5 star hotels in Macau. But don't let the price fool you, the Royal Hotel is a proper 5 star Hotel. The rooms are beautifully furnished with all the the right amenities and the buffet breakfast is definitely a plus. Highly recommended for non gambling tourists who would want to soak in only the sight and sounds of Macau and for those who crave peace and quiet in Macau, due to the fact that this hotel is one of the few hotels in Macau that does not have a casino. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my stay at the Royal Hotel and would definitely highly recommend this hotel.

First of all. great service! I booked 2 East Wing Twin Rooms and got a complimentary upgrade to Tower Room for both rooms, which were really spacious. Complete in-room amenities available with free mini bar. The hotel looks old and dated, hence the lower price for a 5-star hotel. The casino is small but you can always head to Grand Lisboa next door if you want a better casino experience. They have a limited free shuttle service, especially for Macau Taipa Ferry Terminal. We arrived at 9:30 PM and the shuttle had stopped operating. We need to take a Wynn shuttle instead. However, the shuttle service to Macau Outer Ferry terminal was great. Location is great with walking distance to Senado Square and Ruins of St. Paul. Overall a great stay and will probably come back when we got a chance visiting Macau again.

There are many luxury hotels in Macau, but we thought we will be outside for sightseeing for whole day. Thus we made bit lower budget for the accommodation. But we got luxury room (I guess we got free upgrade?), there was separate living room, luggage room, huge bath room with bathtub and private terrace!! Originally we had booked sea view room, but this luxury room was very very comfortable so it made up.

Decent hotel with relatively big rooms (when compared to HK), even though mine was a standard/basic room. Casino downstairs with pretty low minimum stakes which is good for the novice. Minimum stakes: Room service was fast and good. No ridiculously high deposit required for incidentals. Just for 2 nights (and I assume it'll be the same for more nights) - there are many hotels in Macau whichT. It's fully refundable Poor shuttle service (it's like once every hour to the ferry terminal only) but you can take a cab to the ferry terminal where you can hop on to other free buses to other resorts like The Venetian, Galaxy, etc. It's walking distance to Star World, Wynn, Lisboa, etc. that are on the main Macau peninsular. Free breakfast included with many room rates including my cheap one. Very average food but it's buffet style. Better than nothing I guess. Free welcome drink too, at a bar with literally has 3 tables and zero customers but whatever. One free drink (bottled beer, juice, coffee/tea) without any minimum spend. Decent satellite channels and local (HK, Macau, and CCTV ones). If it's at around on a non-Saturday, it's worth it. Free Wi-Fi internet that doesn't seem to limit the number of devices per room.

See my travel tip in Getting to the Emperor Hotel below. Ask for a non-smoking floor and you will be offered a room on the executive floors. We stayed in Room 1909 which is a huge room complete with a long bath and a comfortable king size bed. The facilities are a little old though, but the dim sum on the 1st floor is cheap and tasty. Moving around Macau is literally FOC if you know where to find the free bus services from major hotels that shuttle between the immigration checkpoint to Zhu Hai, harbour, airport, hotels as well as casinos in Macau & Taipa. The remains of St Paul's Church, the Venetian & City of Dreams are popular tourist attractions one should not miss. The House of Dancing Water is another event visitors shouldn't miss as it is the largest water based-play in the world. It is under maintenance for 2 weeks ending 16 Nov 2012.

I really enjoyed staying at Ponte 16 Sofitel Macau last weekend. Since so many new hotels been built, I was worried to select this hotel. Because the hotel is alone itself in downtown Macau (The most famous ones, like the Venetian, Four Seasons, Banyan Tree, are in Taipa). But my concern was disappeared when I saw the hotel. It's the best location ever! Very close to St. Paul's and Senado Square (5-10 min. walking). Even you can go southwards where are there are the oldest confusciast temple and penya hill (has absolutely gorgeous view. The hotel room was nice and the staff were kind. But the club lounge managers were a little bossy. We enjoyed having evening cocktail and breakfast in club lounge.

Our trip to Macau was a gamble of sorts. We were a group ofunlikely tourists - 4 elderly family members and an active four-year-old childinclusive. We booked the hotel online via Agoda based solely on gut instincts.We found a hotel in Macau island within our budget and clicked the button –the ‘MandarinOriental’ name did help to decide us. The night before arrival, I went onlineand saw that the hotel was undergoing renovations; I spent a sleepless night worryingabout our hotel choice. We were checked in by a hotel staff who spoke interesting Cantonesewith a Macanese dialect. Our requests were attended to though the staff did notcome across as naturally friendly. But we had the opportunity to meet otherstaff who were more helpful and friendly during our stay. One particularreception staff did not only speak fluent English but gave us veryhelpful recommendations for eating places. He went to the extent of searchingonline and sketching simple maps for us. Having been warned by friends that hotels in Macau and HongKong were not really something to look forward to, we were pleasantly surprisedby the ambience of the hotel (no sign of renovation), cleanliness of the rooms,the facilities, as well as the understated elegance of the place. We had agreat stay and the bet did pay off – for a reasonable price, we got quite agood deal.

Stayed here recently in June 2013. Accommodation for 3 star and above hotels in Macau are generally not cheap and so even though Sintra is not half as grand and does not has a casino as most of the other huge casino hotels around Macau, it's very strategically located right in the heart of Macau Peninsula. It's only a 5-10 minutes walk to the famous Senado Square, Ruin's of St Paul, St Dominic's church and Margaret E Nata cafe from the hotel. They do not provide free shuttle bus from the airport, There are also a lot of free shuttle buses to the other casinos in Taipa such as Galaxy and City of Dreams nearby. We arrived the hotel at around 3.15 pm but they told us the room would only be ready in another 40 minutes. Intiailly frustrated by the delay even though it was rightfully after check in time, the staff at Sintra certainly made it up with their friendly and very helpful services. Quite a number of the reception staff, senior manager and bellboys can understand and speak English pretty well and they are very willing in giving directions to nearby attractions. They also answer quickly and promptly to any request we had. The hotel provides free luggage storage for their hotel guests after check out/ before check in time. Rooms are spacious and fairly clean. it is inclusive of wifi as well. Otherwise, wifi are charge at MOP 120 per day. Wifi is fast in the room but need to re log in multiple times. I stayed on the non smoking 7th floor. Very quiet at night too. The tv has about 30 channels to choose from even though most are news channel. Did not try any of the food at their restaurants and cafes though. Overall, pretty happy with our stay and if we want to stay at Macau Peninsula again next time, definitely will come back to Sintra!

My room was upgraded to Delux Double so I do not know how the standard room looks like. The Delux room exceeded my expectation. It was lovely, with views overlooking Macau residential areas. They didn't provide sugar for the Lipton tea bags provided but it's better that way right? =P Location was good, you can take buses to anywhere (we crossed over to China!), or even walk. Food wasn't a problem. If you're hungry in the middle of the night there's McD nearby and a 24/7 bakery shop. The hotel frontdesk personnels are relatively young. They can speak basic english, and they'll show you directions if you're not sure of where to go. For the price I paid, it was really satisfying experience, although we didn't spend much time in the hotel. At night the area was pretty dead but then again it was 2am on a monday morning. most people was probably asleep for work the next morning. hehehe.

The place is strategically located in the heart of the old town and just a few minutes walk to the famous attractions and good eateries. The room is spacious and with quality amenities. The only down side about this hotel is that there is no in house cafe, the cafe next door where they serve your complementary breakfast is quite a disappointing one. So it's best not to opt for breakfast being included with your room stay, you can get really nice meals for reasonable price just a few streets away. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. Overall it's a place worth your pennies if you're into seeing the heritage side of Macau!

I've stayed in several hotels in Macau from 2008-2018 over several years (as the prices have inflated rapidly), and even compared to the bigger, more famous hotels, Beverly Plaza offers great value. It is now my go-to hotel whenever I go to Macau. The rooms are clean and have that Mediterranean maritime charm fitting to Macau's colonial history. The staff are welcoming, accommodating, and helpful, the location is right near some of the top local attractions, and there are plenty of places to eat nearby.

About 7 mins walking distance to barrier gate where can easily hop on the free shuttle to famous casino. Majority of the tourism spots at Centro Macau & Taipa are accessible thru free shuttle bus and so may save a lot of transportation fee for more local foods which are very tasty and delicious especially roasted pork and porridge which we like very much. Tasty and delicious local foods are easily found at nearby the hotel at reasonable price. Explore the alley at the left & right of the road for local foods. Besides, if Macau’s local biscuit is one of your must bring home local delight, there is no hurry to carry them from Centro of the Macau because you may get it from the branches set near the barrier gate.

Room: The room is clean and equipped with the basic features that hotel room have, e.g. toiletries, kettle, TV, hair dryer, slipper and complimentary mineral water. Size of the room consider big comparing to the stay in Hong Kong's guest house a night before. Services: The hotel staffs were friendly and helpful. They even help us to heat up the unfinished packed outside food. The buffet breakfast not expensive though, roughly MOP 36 with assorted buffet menu. Location: Can reach by taking public bus no. 26 (from Macau International Airport & Taipa Temporary Ferry Terminal), if taking Cotai ferry from Tsim Sha Tsui or Hong Kong island. The hotel is just 200-300m from Macau Inner Harbour Ferry Terminal bus stop after you hop down from the bus no. 26. Walking distance (5 - 20mins) to most of the Macau tourism hotspots, e.g. "Leal Senado" Building, Senado Square, Holy House of Mercy, Cathedral, St. Dominic's Church, Ruins of St. Paul's, Mount Fortress & etc. Me and my bf even went to Lisboa Casino by walking (about 25mins from Mount of Fortress). There are free shuttle buses to The Venetian (every 30mins, last bus 9.30pm) near the Macau Inner Harbour Ferry Terminal bus stop.

Perfect location! It was just a few minutes' walk away from the major tourist sites - Ruins of St. Paul and Senado Square. From our hotel, we were also able to walk to Wynn Macau where we boarded the free shuttle going to Wynn Palace in Taipa. They also have shuttles to the ferry terminals and airport. Information would be on their website. The Tomato Portuguese restaurant (where we had our best meal in Macau) was also just around the corner. The double room is a bit old but it was clean and large enough for 2 people. It does not feel cramped at all - very spacious. If you prefer to have coffee first thing upon waking up, do bring some instant ones since they do not offer complimentary coffee. Also, be ready for a MOP300 deposit and they will return this upon check-out.

First, definitely value for money! Hotel is so great, well decoration, new and convenience, staff is so friendly, especially Rosalind and Tony. They upgraded our room and gave us free chocolate birthday cake and a little bear for my hubby's birthday celebration. Room is very big and comfortable, there is small screen in the toilet mirror which can see TV shows!!! We checked-in after 3pm then went outside to see a show, after we came back the room around 11pm, they already cleaned the room and prepared hot water and tea for us! There is shuttle bus every 20mins to Macau ferry terminal then transfer other shuttle bus no matter to HK-Macau bridge or Taipa. Everything is fantastic!!!

The Ole Tai Sam Un Hotel was perfect for us. Coming from the Taipa area, we just had to take the City of Dreams shuttle bus to the Sintra Hotel, walk a short distance and we found it not far from the Senado Square. Although reviews say that it would be hard to find, with a map and inquiries with the concierge of Sintra Hotel, we found it easy to find. The hotel is very new and the rooms are clean. The only downside is that you have to make sure the curtains are closed or the neighbors will see you in the room and in the bathroom. It would also have been better if the bathroom door and partition wall was not the smoked type. Yes, this rooms are not advisable if your roommate is not someone you are intimate with. You can see through the smoked bathroom walls and door. It only takes a five-minute walk to the Senado Square and along the way, you'll be passing through food shops where you can buy Macau delicacies for gifts to bring home. Since the Senado Square is near, just follow the road with the wavy line and you'll find yourself in the famous Ruins of St. Paul, as well as the market place where free food for tasting is available. The breakfast buffet offered by the hotel is also affordable and worth it. It was the only breakfast I had during my vacation to Macau and Hongkong that had me satisfied. All in all, I would recommend this hotel to travelers on a limited budget looking for a nice place to stay.

The hotel provides map from the hotel to this places √Near bus stop (in front 7 Eleven) less than 100m from the hotel for bus no 1 juz 3 stops to A Ma Temple (if you don't want to walk there), bus no 3 to Macau Ferry Terminal, bus no 26 to Taipa Ferry Terminal and also Macau Airport (if my memory serve me right) √ Near Royal Supermarket and 7 eleven √ Near PW Money changer √ Near few small restaurants and other cute cafe (beside the hotel's one) √offer free luggage storage before check in and after check out time Cons: √ not a buffet breakfast so we can only choose 1 breakfast menu √ no shuttle bus to ferry terminal or airport (but I only expected it from larger hotel chain there, we can use free shuttle bus from Macau Ferry Terminal to Sofitel Hotel and walk back a bit to Praca Ponte Horta) Yes it's still not what you expected for Best Western group, but overall a nice stay here

We quite enjoyed our stay at the Rocks Hotel. It was something different from the rest of the hotels in Macau. Although the Babylon Casino is just right next to the hotel, it was connected and that was quite a relief. It felt nice and quiet, away from the usual buzz you'll find at hotels in Macau. The hotel was decorated beautifully, the simplistic Euro-style deco was nice and the room was clean. Great value for money and even included 2 sets of breakfast. Will definitely choose the Rocks Hotel again for myself and for guests.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Ascott Macau. The location is very good, short walking distance to other hotels in Macau (where you can easily hop on a shuttle to other hotels in Taipa). The apartment is super spacious (including a living room and cooking/dining space). It comes with a Dolce Gusto coffee machine and even a washing machine (though I suspect anyone would use it). Will definitely come back!

We booked a Saturday night at Crown Plaza at a charge one thousand something which is almost $1000-1500 cheaper than those hotels at Taipa or Macau downtown! It may not be the best location in Macau, but they also provide shuttle bus service from Macau outer Harbour Ferry Pier to hotel at around 20 minutes travelling . The check in is smooth, room is decent and nice. I was being upgraded to a Harbour View Room, look over the Outer harbour & really stress free. Buffet breakfast on 3/F also provide a variety of food, salad, bread & pastries to noodles & congee. It would be perfect if the food can be hotter. Tips for those coming back from Venetian after concert: take the shuttle bus from Venetian to Border Gate and walk to hotel within 20 minutes. You can find different local restaurants, fast food shop & convenience store on the way! Good choice for the supper !

Having tried many hotels in Macau, it was with some pleasure that we finally found a hotel with a comfortable bed. Most of the hotels until this point, had hard Chinese beds and you may as well be sleeping on plywood. The room was also good sized compared to many and much bigger than most of the nearby Hong Kong hotels. We didn't eat there, so I can't comment on the food and there seems to be no N/A choice on the rating chart....sorry about that!

I have no expectations when I booked at this hotel since we will only stay here for 1 night. I booked 2 rooms since we're 6 in the group. I checked their website and tried to sent email asking for directions but the email went back. ( I think email on their website is not working anymore). When we arrived at Macau via Turbojet we were approached by a fellow Fillipina and we asked for direction. She mentioned that we need to take bus 3A Praca Ponte Horte/Terminal but we're so excited so as soon as we saw bus 3A we hopped in. We took bus 3APortas Do Cerco Terminal so it took us an hour to figure our way back.Not everyone speak English as well and good thing the one that I asked when we got off at Portas Do Cerco Terminal showed us that way and he tried his very best that we should take another bus 3A Ponte Horte/terminal and we can see our hotel. It took us 30 minutes because it's traffic an it's raining. This is the last stop and as soon as we get off the bus we saw Macau Masters Hotel. The facade of the building is old and not that attractive but the inside is just fine.They charged the fee a 2 days before our stay so it was easy during check in.They have small cafeteria and lobby but clean. The elevator is also small so max of 3-4 per ride and you need your room key to get up to your desired floor. We were surprised to see our room because it's big with standard twin beds. There's also 2 chairs and table with cabinet and small ref inside. Their TV is also big and there's enough space to put things on the table. With complimentary drinks and water heater if you want to drink coffee. The restroom is big as well and with hot/cold shower and batch tub. They have extra bed sheets and comforters inside the cabinet and hangers for your clothes. There's enough bed pillows as well. The room is clean and they have room heater as well. There's free wifi as well. My nephew got too excited in opening cabinets and the door fell off but good thing he was able to move r

MGM Macau is another good example that MGM hotel still remains a very high standard. The hotel is really impressive. One thing I want to emphasize that the employees of the hotel are very kind. Also, it is very considerable for the hotel to provide a shuttle to Taipa, which most of the other hotels hanvn't. The hotel is at a very good location, only need a couple minutes walk to the center of Macau. The casino is good, there wasn't many noisy mainland guys like Lisboa for example. The outdoor swimming pool is very nice, especially the sightseeing. And never forget to try the Michelin restaurant in MGM, it's behind a side door on Level 1, yummy!!!

I took a day off from Hong Kong to visit Macau. I selected this hotel because it was very close to the main Turbojet ferry terminal (though not for Cotai and other ferries). Hotel is visible from the ferry itself. There is an airconditioned elevated walkway for two thirds of the distance to the hotel - which made life easy for me since I had my suitcase. Outstanding location for this purpose. Hotel itself was very nice. Rooms and bathrooms were of adequate size and well furnished to 4 star standards and worth what I paid for it. A few tips for Indian travellers: Many reviews say the bed is hard - but the hardness is similar to coirfoam and sleepwell mattresses which I use at home and I did not find it a problem. Only those used to spring mattresses will find it hard. Bathroom has no hand flush or bidet system, so be prepared. If you are a vegetarian, there is absolutely nothing to eat near the hotel - be prepared to travel very far to find food. Shops nearby (there are many) will sell you bread, cheese slices and butter only. Nobody speaks English and people including shopkeepers are very rude. A few tips for family travellers: This hotel has entire floors dedicated to "services" like Sauna 18 (which means "massage services" if you get my meaning) and table dancing (that is what it says on the lift button). Outsiders also come. The latter apparently is an adult show where a man and woman do "everything" in front of a crowded audience - touted to me as a f*** show. This is not a place to take children unless you want to answer some embarassing questions - and definitely not for adolescents. The casino has mainly black jack and if you dont speak Chinese and are not a gambler, you cant understand anything at all. Rooms are full of smoke. There is no Roulette (it is there in 3-4 nearby Giant sized casinos - Macau is full of casinos around every corner, full of smoke and crowd). There are good buses nearby to go all over Macau. Great location for sight

I booked in advance as dates/availabilty can be an issue, this is a first choice hotel in macau but I understand chinese clients perfer the encore macau over the wynn mac. the decor is similar to the wynn in las vegas(carpet,walls) I stayed in a one bedroom suite & it was unforgetably fabulous the suite had a huge bathroom& big jacuzzi tub big black granite shower a description of pure luxury, check in is private at the newly renovated wynn club, shops were all high end, service, concierge service excellent perfect english resourceful, confirming international flights. my visit to macau was alot of fun the wynn & venetian were similar to the las vegas wynn & venetian but theres only one las vegas, macau is a whole different experience completely well with kids you werent allowed to walk thur the casino gambling area, so seeing the hotel as entirely wasnt possible which felt like a smaller place & to get to the cantonese resturant you needed to walk outside around the building, macau makes more revenue from gambling than las vegas but theres more shows & shops & things to do in las vegas the show to see in macau was the "water dance" at the city of lights hotel on the other side of the island

We only stayed in Macau for 1 night. So after we checked out I asked them if we can leave our stuff for free. Eventhough the receptionist couldn't speak English. He tried his best to communicate with us. If you would like to stay near famous hotels then try to book a hotel near Taipa. But if you are more into tourist spots then better stay here. The room was huge. There is Mcdonald's nearby. The taxi was very expensive in Macau but the Filipinos who helped us trying to tell us where to go and what bus to take were extremely amazing. Made me so proud for being a Filipino:)

My family of six got 2 deluxe suite rooms and stayed here purposely for a 5-day birthday celebration of my 15 yr-old daughter. We opted for a higher floor with the great views of the ocean, the Fisherman's Wharf Village and the Taipa Bridge. The location was perfect for us who want a serene and more private hotel away from the glares and noisy sides of the city. The rooms were spacious w/ wide living room, flat screen tv's and had the homely feeling that we loved and felt so comfortably relaxed and well rested after more than a 2 hours of long trip.The cleanliness of the accommodation was awesome esp. the nice and fab bathroom and toilet with all the complete amenities. The buffet lunch was good at the 888 Resto at the 2nd floor. The Steak House at the 3rd Floor lived up to its Award, the steak melts in the mouth, It was absolutely fantastic! The Resident Manager, Ms Connie Cheung were extremely helpful and warm in granting my extra special request, a surprise birthday cake for my daughter. She did exceptionally well in providing us with an awesome personal service and for us to truly enjoy our first time stay in Macau. We were highly delighted and blessed with the personal touch and warm smiles of the kind and sensitive staff, gained new friends and will forever instill a memorable stay for our kids to cherish. We will definitely choose this hotel again in our future vacation trips to Macau.
