Hotels near Monte Forte (Fortaleza do Monte)

The Royal Macau is located on Macau Island, so a bit away from the casinos on Cotai Strip but closer to Macau's cultural sights. It was very clean and nice, though our view was on a building that was under construction. You can easily reach most sights (Fortaleza do Monte or Jardim Lou Lim Loc) by foot and also the Grand Lisboa is only a short walk away. The hotel offers a swimming pool, which was perfectly refreshing after the cultural sightseeing and before hitting the casinos. Moreover, the hotel also offers a shuttle bus from the ferry.

I booked a 1 night stay at Harbourview Hotel, Macau on March 22-23, 2019 to celebrate my birthday. Indeed, we had the best stay in Macau and the most unforgettable birthday salubong. The hotel is very nice and clean. Not to mention that the location is also very strategically located around the tourists distinations so very easy to go around the city. The staff are very accommodating to us. We were given the best service from toiletress to water to coffee. Especial thanks to the following staff: John Arnaiz, Jeffrey, Jed, Walter and Ms. Hannah from housekeeping for the warm hospitality. Iba talaga ang alagang pinoy! Until our next stay, Harbourview!

The good news is the rooms are very comfortable, ample space, modern design, clean and very relaxing but unfortunately no window view. For a view it's the 23rd floor swimming pool which although only 1.3m deep across and fairly small is great with great open air views over the harbour area. It's next to a small gym. The coffee shop is great value and whilst the breakfast was only average it was tasty, the drinks however were not, cold urn tea and coffee but if you ask a refreshingly hot cup will appear. The bad news is it's no sex palace as advertized, in fact it's pretty boring with a 4m square bar under the stairs and little all else other than a chinese restaurant which is, well poor decor and uninviting. But we enjoyed our stay, the hotel is very relaxed and super friendly staff and so well located to everything good to do in Macau. An excellent free WiFi and bus service does make this hotel very much worth the stay if you can get a discounted price. OH and I did enjoy the welcome drink, only few hotels still do this.

This hotel location is quite good because located near the restaurants and mini mart. This hotel also quite near to the tourist attraction (Monte Fort). We book a family room which is 2 single rooms which can connected via doors. The hotel facilities also quite good. They provide us the mobile phone which connected to internet. We can use it to find some interesting Tourist place around Macau. The breakfast is served with Chinese and Western style. It is quite good quality of breakfast too. Overall, I recommend this hotel to all traveller who will travel to Macau because the facilities, price and location are fair and good enough

Hello, Given the fact we booked last minute and didn't want to spend too much we ended up in the Grand Lapa after taking an online promotion. We had a very good surprise and my kids (4 and 6 years old) wanted to stay longer than the 2 nights we booked for the week-end. It certainly used to be a top 5 stars Hotel but it's ageing now and even though it is still very good you can see it is not all renovated and modern. Pros: - "Old hotel" means pretty spacious bedroom and bathroom which is a plus for us. - Dated but everything was very clean - Heated outside swimming pool with a slide for the kids (even if heated pool, in November you don't stay 2h00 in the water as it gets chilly after 30-45 minutes). - Friendly staff - Nice garden and playroom (though a bit old too) that the kids loved - Close to the Fisherman's Wharf so you can go walking and the kids loved walking there - Taxi available quite easily in front of the hotel - Old downtown Macau and Largo do Senado can be reached walking (but take between 20-30 minutes with the kids). If you take a taxi it literally takes lass than 5 minutes. Cons: - Not too many restaurant close by (but you have 2 or 3 inside the hotel) - You have to cross a public place (but no road) behind the hotel to access the spa/swimming pool, gardens and playroom. It's not really a cons but it's not quick to go back to your room if you forgot something. If you are looking for luxury and last modern commodity, it might not suit you. We are usually staying at 3 star hotels so an old 5 stars hotel was just a perfect stay for us. We would definitely recommend it and would go back again if we have the occasion.

Excellent location: Walking distance of Senado Square, St. Paul's and Fortaleza do Monte. Nice clean bathroom, big comfortable room. We were looking for a nice hotel without casino and this hotel met our requirements. We booked a grand deluxe room. While booking, we asked for a king sized bed, however they provided us two twin bed. Which was quite uncomfortable. Overall, good value for money.

Stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed Caravel hotel. I love the luxurious feel of the sheets n pillows. It’s like you’re in a 5 star hotel. L’ Occitane shampoo, conditioner., bath gel are a nice touch. I love that there are lotion, toothbrush, toothpaste, also. There’s a blow dryer also hidden in the closet drawer where the safe is. The room is small but it’s plenty for a couple. Love the hot cocoa machine. n they have a coffee machine also.. It was a nice walk to sightseeing locations! Bring your comfy shoes.

The stay at the hotel was very nice. I booked an executive room and was unaware that I could have gone straight up to the 16th floor to check in. The speedy checkout process in the business lounge was nice and fast. I was unable to find a shuttle from the airport to the hotel. They appear to share a shuttle with another chain with Emperor labeled on the outside of the van. Much smaller than the big chains vans. They did have a shuttle to the ferry terminal which was good. For those with onward travel to HKG you have to ensure your time between landing and flight departure is at least 2 hours. I was unable to take the direct ferry to the airport because I would have only had 1.5 hours.

Pros - 1)unbelievable steam shower, 2)jacouzzi in the bathroom 3)tv screens everywhere 4)view was amazing 5)staff very friendly and always wanting to please 6) best location - we could walk to almost anywhere we wanted to go Cons - 1)renovations going on , on lower floors and nobody told us until we complained about the noise and got moved. 2) the only reason i booked this hotel was because i read somewhere that it had the best views for new years eve fireworks .....well there werent any! So very disappointed!! 3) a bit of a communication problem - a lot of the staff were very friendly but dont speak or understand english very well, or should i say, we dont speak chinese at all! So there were a few times where they didnt know wot we were asking for.

First, the hotel is difficult to find. The area where it is located has many streets and corners, and we got really frustrated when, after almost an hour, we still couldn't find the hotel. Worse, we showed the address of the hotel (even in Cantonese) to a number of residents, but we were still running in circles. We thought we were the only ones who had this experience, but a reading of the reviews would only prove otherwise. The hotel condition is also disappointing. The elevator malfunctioned. After slowing down and producing this eerie sound, it didn't take us to our floor; it instead took us to the basement, which looked really otherworldly. No kidding. Well, the only saving grace of this hotel is its location (notwithstanding the initial difficulty in finding it). It's near the tourist spots: Senado Square, St. Paul Ruins, Fortaleza do Monte, among other places.

Stayed along with my parents and it was amazing. From its design outside which is very palace like to the inside where in interior very much like leave up to the design outside. Inside is very luxurious and detailed, room is very spacious and the bed is really comfortable. My mom is shocked on how the television goes up from the cabinet, but the best of all from this hotel are the staff who not only serve us but also made sure that we will be able to have unforgettable stay as it is the 31st anniversary of my parents. From the moment we enter the hotel the front line staff Amad, greeted us and helped us on our luggage and led us to the front desk. Eva did the checking in which is fast and very professional she even greeted my parents a happy anniversary as soon as she knew it. Rose escorted us to the room, she told us all the hotel facilities and room amenities. Brian from the Concierge helped us with our luggage and provided some information in Macau. He also waited for us near the recreation to escort us to go to the lounge on eight. Lyn from the lounge on eight is very nice and engaging, the overall experience in the lounge on eight which is already very good is greatly enhanced because of her costumer engagement. Upon going out. Jury helped us on where to go, he gave us detailed information on which place to visit and which is very good place to go as my mom is having difficulty on walking. The room attendant, Sam, Dennis and Jonathan did a good job, service was really fast. Upon going to recreation Yumiko did a good job even we find it hard to communicate she tried her best to explain every facilities to us at the recreation. The gallery bar is very nice and cozy aswell, it has a very elegant vibe in it and is greatly enhanced by what louie made for us. Has ben stay here for twice.location was superb,walking distance to tourist attraction such as Ruins Of St Paul's,Monte Fort,Senado Square,St Dominic's Church,Lisboa casino, etc. Room was clean & modern. i'm taking free shuttle bus from airport to Wynn hotel,walking distance about 20minutes to Tai sum un hotel. You can request taxi service from front counter. 2 Front counter girl provided a very good customer service, definitely will come back agains.

Pros: It's close to Senado Square (downtown), convenient stores, supermarkets, banks, bakeries and small-medium restaurants (Chinese, Filipino, European). All within 5-15mins' walk depending on your pace. There is even a park right in front of Sun Sun for the locals and tourists to hang (and do light exercise!). A free 'Handy' phone with free data and credit during our stay, how thoughtful and what a bargain! The staff is super helpful and friendly. We felt like we were staying at a 4-star hotel with such service. The cons, probably the extra bed (sofa bed), not very comfy but good enough. The main beds, though, are one of the best we came across in Macau. We'll certainly stay here again!

We booked Rocks Hotel as we were informed that we need to be a guest of one of the 2 hotels in Fisherman's Wharf, to be entitled to have our pre-wedding photoshoot at Fisherman's Wharf. Upon arrival, we were amazed by the Hotel's interior and layout and we further enquired to take pre-wedding pictures in the Hotel. However, we were informed that we are not allowed to do so, unless we purchase their pre-wedding photoshoot package, which is a top up of MOP2,000 for the permit or MOP2,300 for the permit and an upgrade of our rooms. It was too expensive and we decided not to proceed with it. Nonetheless, we had a great time and we enjoyed the location of the hotel. They offer free shuttle to several places including the ferry terminal. The only problem with the free shuttle was the place they dropped us has no shade and we were drenched when we were dropped off at the terminal.

I had stay many hotels in Macau and this is the best so far. Emailed them to inform I'm celebrating my wedding anniversary and they upgraded our room to noble suite and provide a free red wine too. Room is huge, clean and luxurious. There are 3 TV (living room, bed room and bathroom), washing machine, microwave, refrigerator etc. Bathroom is huge and shower items are good (L'OCCITANE). Really feel like a living in a super luxurious home in overseas with 5 stars hotel services. Location is also good ( Stone throw to MGM and few mins walk to Wynn and Starworld). Highly recommended to all type of travellers!

We booked a Saturday night at Crown Plaza at a charge one thousand something which is almost $1000-1500 cheaper than those hotels at Taipa or Macau downtown! It may not be the best location in Macau, but they also provide shuttle bus service from Macau outer Harbour Ferry Pier to hotel at around 20 minutes travelling . The check in is smooth, room is decent and nice. I was being upgraded to a Harbour View Room, look over the Outer harbour & really stress free. Buffet breakfast on 3/F also provide a variety of food, salad, bread & pastries to noodles & congee. It would be perfect if the food can be hotter. Tips for those coming back from Venetian after concert: take the shuttle bus from Venetian to Border Gate and walk to hotel within 20 minutes. You can find different local restaurants, fast food shop & convenience store on the way! Good choice for the supper !

I have no expectations when I booked at this hotel since we will only stay here for 1 night. I booked 2 rooms since we're 6 in the group. I checked their website and tried to sent email asking for directions but the email went back. ( I think email on their website is not working anymore). When we arrived at Macau via Turbojet we were approached by a fellow Fillipina and we asked for direction. She mentioned that we need to take bus 3A Praca Ponte Horte/Terminal but we're so excited so as soon as we saw bus 3A we hopped in. We took bus 3APortas Do Cerco Terminal so it took us an hour to figure our way back.Not everyone speak English as well and good thing the one that I asked when we got off at Portas Do Cerco Terminal showed us that way and he tried his very best that we should take another bus 3A Ponte Horte/terminal and we can see our hotel. It took us 30 minutes because it's traffic an it's raining. This is the last stop and as soon as we get off the bus we saw Macau Masters Hotel. The facade of the building is old and not that attractive but the inside is just fine.They charged the fee a 2 days before our stay so it was easy during check in.They have small cafeteria and lobby but clean. The elevator is also small so max of 3-4 per ride and you need your room key to get up to your desired floor. We were surprised to see our room because it's big with standard twin beds. There's also 2 chairs and table with cabinet and small ref inside. Their TV is also big and there's enough space to put things on the table. With complimentary drinks and water heater if you want to drink coffee. The restroom is big as well and with hot/cold shower and batch tub. They have extra bed sheets and comforters inside the cabinet and hangers for your clothes. There's enough bed pillows as well. The room is clean and they have room heater as well. There's free wifi as well. My nephew got too excited in opening cabinets and the door fell off but good thing he was able to move r

Basically, I hardly find any negative feedback about this hotel. The reservation staff is doing great job to meet my request. The personalize services and attentive staff from the day check in until the moment I get onto the taxi was indeed excellent! The rainfall shower is fantastic and also the big comfort bed. They have lovely restaurants serve great food which must try out and we are so impressed with the decoration at the walkway (indoor garden) to casino which is so amazed as the sweet aroma arouse from the flowers is so beauty! The cons are there is no bathrobe in room and no shuttle bus to Macau Airport. However, I would still rate MGM as 5 stars hotel with 5 stars services despite whether it’s my pure luck on this perfect encounter! Definitely will return again.

I took a day off from Hong Kong to visit Macau. I selected this hotel because it was very close to the main Turbojet ferry terminal (though not for Cotai and other ferries). Hotel is visible from the ferry itself. There is an airconditioned elevated walkway for two thirds of the distance to the hotel - which made life easy for me since I had my suitcase. Outstanding location for this purpose. Hotel itself was very nice. Rooms and bathrooms were of adequate size and well furnished to 4 star standards and worth what I paid for it. A few tips for Indian travellers: Many reviews say the bed is hard - but the hardness is similar to coirfoam and sleepwell mattresses which I use at home and I did not find it a problem. Only those used to spring mattresses will find it hard. Bathroom has no hand flush or bidet system, so be prepared. If you are a vegetarian, there is absolutely nothing to eat near the hotel - be prepared to travel very far to find food. Shops nearby (there are many) will sell you bread, cheese slices and butter only. Nobody speaks English and people including shopkeepers are very rude. A few tips for family travellers: This hotel has entire floors dedicated to "services" like Sauna 18 (which means "massage services" if you get my meaning) and table dancing (that is what it says on the lift button). Outsiders also come. The latter apparently is an adult show where a man and woman do "everything" in front of a crowded audience - touted to me as a f*** show. This is not a place to take children unless you want to answer some embarassing questions - and definitely not for adolescents. The casino has mainly black jack and if you dont speak Chinese and are not a gambler, you cant understand anything at all. Rooms are full of smoke. There is no Roulette (it is there in 3-4 nearby Giant sized casinos - Macau is full of casinos around every corner, full of smoke and crowd). There are good buses nearby to go all over Macau. Great location for sight

I had booked a Deluxe City View and Wynn gave me a free upgrade. The room was the best room I have ever seen in my life. It's spotless clean, it's got all the amenities you can thing of and the view was simply breath taking. The front desk were really accommodating and acted like a real 5 star service reps. The location was central and you could walk to all of the surrounding hotels. Overall, I can't say a single bad thing about this hotel. I highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel has an absolute location. It's very close to some of Macau's popular landmarks - Ruins of St. Paul's, Senado Square, Fortaleza do Monte, Camoes Square and Casa Garden, St. Anthony's Church, Leal Senado Building, St. Augustine's Church, Dom Pedro V Theatre, Sir Robert Ho Tung Library, Mandarin's House, Lilau Square, Moorish Barracks, A-Ma Temple and a lot more, even to the casinos like Grand Lisboa, Hotel Lisboa, Wynn Macau, MGM, and also Macau Tower. You can really discover places just by walking, which I did, from the hotel to these popular sights. I didn't have to spend a lot with transportation fees. The hotel is also few steps away from local gift shops, pastry shops, and some eateries, as well as parks and convenience stores. The hotel staff are quite nice, one lady even directed me on how to go to Ruins of St. Paul's. The senior staff who was on duty when I arrived at past 2am on Friday/Saturday was accommodating to my concern despite the limited English when I thought the key got stuck to the key slot. Overall, I'd say I would book with this hotel again when I come back.

before i start, this hotel would have got across the board 5 stars but for one thing. we paid almost 150 euro for our room. for one night. this did not includ breakfast and while the room was excellent (probably the nicest we've stayed in), you can't call it value for money when wifi is not included in the room and breakfast isn't included. as for everything else, well the room was splendid. the ensuite was huge with a portable tv, jacuzzi bath tub, rain shower, and huge counter top and mirror, all laid out in white marble. the walk-in wardrobe was bigger than some cars i've driven. they provided top of the range electronics too, two 40" tvs in the room, brilliant iron and a videl sasoon hairdryer. the bed was king size and while we didn't spend very long it (thanks to the casino downstairs!) it was from memory very comfortable. next to the sleeping area is a lounge with sofa for maybe 5-6 people, coffee tables, arm chairs and the second of the two widescreen tvs. really, the best thing about the sands was the room experience. everything else was great, but if you like your creature comforts and can afford the price, then go for it.
