"The hotel is about 15 mins walk from the historic and charming centre of Paraty. Room to beach took about 30 seconds. The staff are great, the breakfast excellent and the aircon efficient. We ate at the beach restaurant directly opposite the hotel and La Luna which is a little further up the beach. Both were good. Tips; Visit Paraty, it's well worth the 4-5 hour trip South of Rio. The historic centre is best done on foot though cobbles abound. We took the five hour tour of the islands which was fun."

"3 good reasons not to stay here: 1. I found not only my FULL credit card details, name and address including security code written down in pen and paper at the reception desk but that of every guest in the pousada, this is how credit card cloning happens, which is a very common problem in Brazil already. 2. The receptionist refused to believe that this was a security risk and told me loudly and repeatedly that this is normal for Brazil. 3. Upon my insistence that this was not fine and I was not happy and wanted to speak to the owner, I was shouted at by the English speaking receptionist that "if I was not prepared to understand how Brazil works I should go home to my own country" and refused any details to contact the owner to discuss the problem. The food average, cleanliness okay, slightly run down, parking in the street but on a positive note the view from the terrace is of the sea. "
