Klong Son hotels & places to stay

First of all you may face a confusion to find it, because this villa is part of Siam royal view resort and it is not mentioned anywhere in the booking as it is owned by private person. With some help of local people we have reached, but first we were disgusted with mouldy smell inside the villa, also it was told to us that there is a maid who is cleaning every 3 days. We were there 3 nights a we have never met her. In such kind of villa I would expect daily housekeeping. Actually the villa was not so bad, in case you ignore the fact that you have not a direct view to the sunrise, also it was taking time to turn on the water heater and the things like wash machine or dishwasher were not working at all. The resort was very good, but the private owner of the villa really needs to improve the services

I traveled with my wife to Koh Chang for our honeymoon in February. We intended to stay for 6 nights and move on but extended for another 6 nights. Positives;- We booked a paradise room which is small, but has a large bathroom and quality sea view. Our room was cleaned well daily. The breakfast was a good standard, there was free use of the hotel kayak, you can use the large swimming pool at the next door hotel, there is free bottled water in the rooms, a laundry service (which is cheap and arrives the next day). The manager was very accommodating, relaxed, friendly and gave us a lift into White Sand Beach of an evening. All in all it is an excellent beach location – very peaceful and relaxing. Agree with positive reviews. The garden area is nice, there is no fighting for sun beds and it is totally chilled out. Just what we needed. Ping the ginger cat also kept us entertained. Negatives;- The hotel needs to publish useful information for guests on services as we only found out certain things by previous reviews and word of mouth. Be prepared as it is a remote location and if like us you need more activity in the evening, then a taxi is 400-500 TBH for a one way trip. It is only a 15 minute journey, but this is over a mountain. However, we thought the excellent location more than made up for this. Hotel restaurant – found the menu limited in the evenings. Although the food was nice, you may not want to eat there every night and there are limited other viable options in the area. Overall, you will not be disappointed, it was a privilege to stay in such a nice location and I would love to come back in the future.

When first approaching the hotel, we thought we made a big mistake. From the outside it looks run down and the name also says Siam Royal View which at no where it mentioned the name Peninsula Beach. Well, the hotel is there at the end of road and check in is straight forward. The room is much nicer than the photos and tastefully decorated. The hotel sales info and phtos really let down from the actual. It was really a pieceful stay and the environment really quiet and nice. The ocean water is clean, clear and calm. One can walk 10-15 meters into the sea and the depth is around 1 meter plus. Suggest to walk around the environment because there are multiple beaches around the hotel. Hotel is close to ferry terminal but far away from where all the shops are located. In our case not an issue due to we had our own transportation. Overall it was a excellent stay and next return will definitely stay here for longer period.

Very nice resort. Staff were excellent. Requested double bed (std room) on booking but was given room with twin beds. Spoke to reception and changed no problem. Great resort with great service. However the beach was minimal and we found the resort a bit remote (Althought they do offer a free shuttle to white sands which is 10-15min drive). Will probably stay in Klong Prao Beach area next time.

I had booked this hotel and paid Agoda directly. When I arrived, the hotel owner asked me to pay an additional 280 baht in cash before I could check in to the room. The owner told me that the 479.31 baht on Agoda was a "mistake" made by Agoda and that he would remove his rooms from Agoda. As it was late at night and other hotels in the area were fully booked, I had no choice except to pay the additional 280 baht so that I could shower and sleep. Several days later I saw that this hotel has advertised the same room for 475 baht again. The hotel owner is very dishonest to attract customers with a low rate and then demand extra money when they arrive.

The property is located in the North West of the island and is a pleasant series of two tier chalets. If you're not keen on the resort scene a la White Sands beach and aren't bothered about being on a beach generally, but are more in Koh Chang to explore the island, then this would be a suitable base. Our room was spacious and included a double bed, en suite with hot shower, WiFi in room, television, fridge with complimentary water and fan (air-con was available for a higher price). The room was clean but had no mosquito nets on windows and a large gap below the door which we had to plug ourselves. Also, the television didn't work (finally found some English language channels after 4 weeks outside Bangkok but it wouldn't tune with a snowy picture) and when we told the manager he said someone would fix it but they never did. We were told they had "called someone" to fix it but got the impression they couldn't care less about it (disappointing to not get something you pay for). The property has a restaurant - we only ate there once though because the breakfast was distinctly average (compared to what we found along the places on northern White Sands beach). There isn't a huge amount to do around the property, but Klong Son village is a 10 minute walk away and has a 7 Eleven, a small amount of street food, internet cafe etc. The property does provide a private taxi service in the owners battered up old car - prices seem to be the same rates as waiting on the street for a two bencher so was worthwhile and a useful service

When we arrived in this place nobody meeting us. We are checked all houses and find one was open. Nobody visited us all time. Duration all time staff does not cleaning room before me remember about do it. A trash were every where. A lawn is small square about 2*2 meters. Lawn has a lot of barbed grasses. After lawn located big ravine has depth about 1.5 meter and wide 2 meters. The ravine has not fence. There are lot of trash in ones. Also smells is not good. There are lot of dogs surrounds. And lot of dog shit on the lawn.

Felt very welcomed and at home here. Everyone especially the kids full of smiles which is nice to be greeted with. Delicious, reasonably price meals and convenient place to rent a reliable motor scooter. Location near the ferry dock but on the other side of the hill from the most of the touristy beaches. However with this in mind the guesthouse and the village has a slower pace and less touristy feel. The only con I can think of was a minor ant colony in the bathroom which may bother some but didn't take away from my positive experience.

Mixed views on this one Rooms are huge with a modern feel, the bathroom follows suit. There is a huge flat screen TV with a few cable channels. Good wifi. The beds are really comfortable with nice linen. We had twin beds and were a little bemused that they were only 2'6" wide which seemed out of keeping with the room dimensions. Big patio with good, big double glazed doors. nice comfortable patio chairs and table. Could do with a couple of sunbeds to finish it off. We were on the 3rd floor and had a lovely view,. The hotel is a 5 minute stroll to the beach. We were 'all-inclusive' but this is not what it seems. The resort claims 3 restaurants but you can only use the one at the hotel, right away from the beach. Food from the menu is great but that was only for lunch. The 2 nights we were there they had Thai Street Market at dinner time, so 4 stalls and a choice of Pad Thai, Satay, Green Curry or chicken wings! Cheap food and not particularly good. Not fair on AI, FB or HB guests.
