“A good resort with nice swimming pool and some minor cons”
Pros: Overall a good place that we would choose again. Value for money is ok, mainly because you can benefit from the beach access at their sister hotel and some of the common infrastructure such as the gym, coffee, and travel agency. Our room was big, spotless clean, and bright. Besides a large and comfy bed, there's also a nice sofa, a pretty good desk, and a large balcony with two chairs and a mini table. The shower is with an electric heater, meaning you never run out of hot water, but it's also a bit weaker than you'd prefer. The location is very good, close to many good and affordable restaurants, 7/11, shops, pharmacies, and coffees. The beach is just over the street and nice for swimming, sunbathing and walking. One of the best parts for us was the swimming pool. Due to its design and shape, it's ideal for swimming and rarely crowded - you often have it to yourself, even when the hotel is full. We enjoyed the soup station at the breakfast buffet and you can also get freshly prepared eggs. Cons: Nothing very severe, but there were quite a couple of things that we did not find ideal. First, there's sometimes a bad smell at the hotel, both outside as well as in the room. It's not always there, but we noticed it several times - not what you want when on holiday. The WiFi had frequent short interrupts and is not stable enough for longer video calls (speed is good, stability not). The TV in our room was half-broken. There's 5G reception, so better to bring your own SIM when you need stable internet. While the AC is strong, we had problems setting it to a comfortable level for sleeping. It's either too strong or too weak, looks like the fan speed can't be controlled nicely. We had mixed impressions regarding the breakfast. While there's quite a wide selection and different dishes every day, it's frustrating to see that most cooked dishes aren't kept warm properly and are often only lukewarm (a common problem in many Asian hotels that would be so easy to fix). Please, please, please - get this right. The automatic Nescafe machines produce disgusting coffee and should be replaced.
