Hotel Guia
Macau City,Macau - View on map
"macau is not the place to find cheap accommodation. having said that, hotel guia provides great quality for the price. anything cheaper would get you a closet in some run-down area. quality of this sort anywhere else would break the bank. the hilltop location where the hotel guia is located is just a few minutes walk from the city action, but far enough away to offer peace and quiet. walking the other direction brings you to a park where the locals work out (running, fitness machines, etc.) a brief 3 pataca cable car ride drops you right into where the locals hang out. there are a few buses nearby, and a taxi can bring you practically anywhere in macau for a reasonable price, too. the rooms are clean, quiet, and equipped with everything you need for your stay. a free shuttle bus is offered to the ferry terminal as well."

MGM Macau

"There are a lot of nice hotels in Macau but the MCM has also sea view, well at least the room we had, we had requested seaview and had an upgraded room. The room was super modern with huge windows to look out. The restaurants were also very nice but the casino was the best, we stopped at several different hotels to see the difference and MCM was by far our favorite. It also has a very nice pool which we unfortunately did not get to use since we were only staying one night. I would definately stay at MCM again, it is worth the money."

Riviera Hotel
Macau City,Macau - View on map
"Staff was nice to upgrade us to the Suite due to unavailability of the rooms we booked (due to season rush) - the room offered great view bridge connecting Taipa & Macau Tower with bay separating Taipa-Macau. Hotel location is on a hill (though not very tiring) and has short cut opening (follow left after getting out of hotel exit) to road to casinos & MGM grand (may take about 10-15mins easy walk). The hotel is far away from the hectic activities of the city - walking distance (expect a little tiring climb) to Penha church & further (slope) leading to A-Ma temple. Easy to catch buses at A-Ma temple to visit other popular locations. Macau City itself being small - location does not add to much of travel time."

Golden Dragon Hotel

"I took a day off from Hong Kong to visit Macau. I selected this hotel because it was very close to the main Turbojet ferry terminal (though not for Cotai and other ferries). Hotel is visible from the ferry itself. There is an airconditioned elevated walkway for two thirds of the distance to the hotel - which made life easy for me since I had my suitcase. Outstanding location for this purpose. Hotel itself was very nice. Rooms and bathrooms were of adequate size and well furnished to 4 star standards and worth what I paid for it. A few tips for Indian travellers: Many reviews say the bed is hard - but the hardness is similar to coirfoam and sleepwell mattresses which I use at home and I did not find it a problem. Only those used to spring mattresses will find it hard. Bathroom has no hand flush or bidet system, so be prepared. If you are a vegetarian, there is absolutely nothing to eat near the hotel - be prepared to travel very far to find food. Shops nearby (there are many) will sell you bread, cheese slices and butter only. Nobody speaks English and people including shopkeepers are very rude. A few tips for family travellers: This hotel has entire floors dedicated to "services" like Sauna 18 (which means "massage services" if you get my meaning) and table dancing (that is what it says on the lift button). Outsiders also come. The latter apparently is an adult show where a man and woman do "everything" in front of a crowded audience - touted to me as a f*** show. This is not a place to take children unless you want to answer some embarassing questions - and definitely not for adolescents. The casino has mainly black jack and if you dont speak Chinese and are not a gambler, you cant understand anything at all. Rooms are full of smoke. There is no Roulette (it is there in 3-4 nearby Giant sized casinos - Macau is full of casinos around every corner, full of smoke and crowd). There are good buses nearby to go all over Macau. Great location for sight"

Beverly Plaza Hotel
Macau City,Macau - View on map
"I've stayed in several hotels in Macau from 2008-2018 over several years (as the prices have inflated rapidly), and even compared to the bigger, more famous hotels, Beverly Plaza offers great value. It is now my go-to hotel whenever I go to Macau. The rooms are clean and have that Mediterranean maritime charm fitting to Macau's colonial history. The staff are welcoming, accommodating, and helpful, the location is right near some of the top local attractions, and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. "
