Excellent”

I have been coming to Yogyakarta for around 20 years now and have stayed in several of the local hotels--including the Novotel two or three times before. Yogyakarta is full of (too many) hotel options these days, however, Novotel has remained a strong contender. For the most part, they keep their facilities up well--they have a very nice pool and the rooms are well-maintained and tidy. They have a modest fitness center which is in need of new machines but it's decent. The breakfasts are quite lovely and a big plus of this hotel are the hardworking staff who are very kind and take their hospitality duties quite seriously--they are very professional. They learn guests' names and always greet you with a smile. The location is great if you are doing work at any of the nearby universities (UGM, UIN, etc) or if you want to be able to eat nearby in the Galleria mall or in the many restaurants in the neighborhood behind the hotel (all close enough not to require a taxi ride). That being said, one major issue at this location is their elevators. The hotel is 8 stories and has two elevators--though during our week-long stay, only one was working and the other was frequently under repair (in fact, it was completely out of order for most of our stay). This is, frankly, alarming since the hotel was having elevator issues last year during my month-long stay at the same hotel. If these elevators need to be replaced the hotel management needs to take this safety issue very seriously and close for long enough to address this problem. The Novotel should also really work on their staircase options--I took the stairs from the 8th floor a few times at the end of my stay because the state of the elevators was not reassuring. The stairs are really only for staff and emergencies. It is worth noting that there is only one staircase for residents if there was an emergency.

Nice Enough”

Novotel Yogyakarta Hotel was nice enough for me to stay....It's located in near center of Yogyakarta so I could go anywhere easily.. The atmosphere was good enough so I felt comfort during my stay over there. But a lil pity such as limitation on TV channels (mostly local TV channel)and uncoveraged Wi-Fi signal area on my room (at 7th floor) made me a lil bit disappointed..I guess it shoul be fixed up a.s.a.p... Over all...It's nice to stay again in Novotel Yogyakarta Hotel on my next visit..(hopefully with everything's already done perfectly)

Excellent Service, Great Location, Well-Maintained Facilities”

My mother and I stayed at the Novotel for a long visit in Yogyakarta. We have been visiting Yogya annually for almost 20 years and have stayed in several hotels in the area, but Novotel has become a favorite. The staff here is excellent--very friendly and many make an effort to learn guests names and greet you personally when they see you. The breakfasts are very nice--quite a spread! (Though the coffee is not great.) The rooms here are well-kept--very clean, well-maintained, and many have pleasant views of the city. You hear very little noise from nearby rooms. The hotel is fairly centrally located in the city so it's a very easy commute up to Gadjah Mada University, a short trip to Malioboro, and the Galleria Mall is just a few doors down the road. (The street is one-way in front of the hotel so don't be alarmed that taxis will have to go around the block to get to where you're going.) There are several nice restaurants in walking distance in the neighborhood behind the hotel/mall. The pool facilities at the hotel are really lovely. The gym is a little small: there are only 2 treadmills and 2 elliptical machines (so you often have to wait your turn), though the collection of hand weights and several weight machines is good. One minor issue is the wifi at the hotel--it is included with your room but it is pretty slow and we kept getting bumped off. Overall, we had a great stay and we look forward to our next visit!

One of the best personnel ever”

Novotel standard is known worldwide. Yogyakarta people are friendly. Novotel Yogyakarta is simply the best hotel service I ever found after staying in various hotels travelling yearly for the last ten years. Location is central to any places and next to the Galleria Mall. Bedroom linen changed daily, bath toiletry items of good quality. Breakfast of wide variety, worthy to mention specially the various bread types and whole grained. The best yet is the staff and personnel who do their best to cater to all guests needs. They offered us to use their umbrella as we went to the Galleria Mall under heavy rain, knowing that we would only return hours later after dinner and shopping.

Great hotel, helpful staff”

Yogyakarta was a bit boring for my kids 4 and 8, but the time they spent in the hotel was memorable. The hotel has a kids club (free for patrons) and the kids really enjoyed their time there while we adults go for a massage at the in house spa next to the kids club. It is really convenient for parents to relax while their kids enjoy the toys, coloring, Xbox and DVD player available there. The room was good and clean, as expected from the hotel. Staff were really helpful and somewhat soft spoken.. We found that this is the good quality of the people in Jogja in general. There were free wifi in the rooms,although the speed could be better and we did not have to relogin for the hundredth time. We did not eat at the hotel though. There are plenty of food stalls around the hotel. There is also a shopping complex, Galleria just around the corner where food are easy to find. Going around was really easy. Taxis seem to be available 24/7 at reasonable rate (we were charged by the meter) at the hotel. There is also a bus station opposite the hotel. Overall, Novotel was a good choice for us.

Recommended hotel”

we are very satisfied to stay at the novotel for our christmas holiday.we served by friendly staff at check-in and check-out time. we got comfortable room with a pool view and the bed which is big enough for the size of double bed room. galeria mall is located next to the hotel and bethesda hospital in front-of.many food stall located within walking distance. so, it is very recommended to stay at novotel if you visit yogyakarta. thanks agoda.

Novotel Yogyakarta supply with standard facilities for my business trip need, reasonable hotel rate and located in the strategic place to make me easy to move around the city. Nice clean rooms with Large Comfortable beds”

The beds are big and comfortable for the nights rest. Breakfast has a good spread and seems that food are not always topped up when emptied. This is a family oriented hotel. Tour packages from the hotel are expensive. Theres a bus stop outside the hotel which may bring you to many places like malioboro street and possibly Borobudur at very low cost. The galleria mall beside the hotel has a good variety of shops, food and supermarket. Will definitely return to Novotel Yogyakarta if return to Joga again..

this is my second stay here at novotel yogyakarta and found it as comfortable as my previous stay i've even been given the same room (537), which i loved because it's located at the front end of the building so the bed faces a large window where sunlight streams through (a really pleasant way to wake up) the room is clean and the king size bed is comfortable check in and check out is a quick and painless process the only thing i don't like is the location of the pool, which is really near the lobby and the hallway to the elevator so it's very visible, you don't really have the privacy to relax at the loungers location is quite strategic, although away from the hustle and bustle of malioboro street (which is a relief because i'm staying during school holiday) will definitely stay here again on my next business trip

hotel staff were very friendly, meals were very tasty with something for everyone, the rooms were very nice, and the location was excellent. i have stayed at other novotel hotels, but my stay at the yogyakarta novotel was the best! i found the novotel very affordable, i booked in advance on the internet, and was pleasantly surprised on arrival.

Comfortable and convenient stay”

This was my second time staying at the Novotel at Yogyakarta, and I wasn't dissappointed this time either. Its convenient location (next to a mall) and plenty of taxi's and trishaws parked just outside the hotel means accesibility to the surrounding areas is really easy. Staff are especially helpful and take the time to guide you through this wonderful city.

Great location with big and clean rooms”

we stayed in this hotel for 2 nights after our borobudur temple tour. novotel yogyakarta hotel is a nice hotel with very accessible location. breakfast is buffet with several choices but it is not really great. we got the standard king room and the the bed was so comfortable, the room and bathroom are so clean. we decided to try their hotel spa and was not dissapointed. the spa was worth the price and it added to our good memories of our yogyakarta vacation. we will stay in this hotel again.

great service but hotel needs a facelift”

my husband and i stayed at the novotel yogyakarta hotel for 3 nights. during our stay, we found that the staff were very polite and the service was efficient. one disadvantage of the hotel may be its location, for some, as it is not located near the popular malioboro shopping stretch. we found that it was actually an advantage to us as that meant that the hotel was not over-crowded and we were able to enjoy the various hotel amenities without feeling like we were elbowing fellow travellers. however, the hotel needs an overall, like maybe an upgrade in the tv and the interiors. otherwise, the hotel was adequate for our needs and we would definitely recommend it to others.

Nice Hotel but need 24 hrs other services”

My experience of stayed at Novotel Yogyakarta was great. The Hotel is nice, great location and the staffs are friendly. Unfortunately, when I got back from work around 9.35pm and badly needed a massage because my whole body was sore I couldn't get the service from the Novotel Hotel. Also when I need to use the business center to print an important document the front desk staff couldn't help me or let me use the business center at 9.35pm and 6.30am. Lack of communications between the front desk staff shown on the day I ask to use the Business center at 6.30 because on the previous night one of the front desk person told me I can use it but in the morning the other employee Couldn't help me at all.

Nice hotel with Javanese tradition”

I stayed for 4 nights at Novotel Yogyakarta, the location is closed to the public facilities, including the public transport. I like the traditional breakfast provided by Hotel. However, I think the room facilities need to be improved.

modern hotel, clean and great location ”

one of the advantage stay in novotel is the location. novotel is close from everywhere - galeria mall which is just next door from the hotel, hospital - across the road, duta wacana university and even malioboro which is the central of the town. i was so surprised when i saw the bed (twin bed), it was massive and very comfortable. the thing that i didn't really like was the internet connection, it took me forever to open my email. but otherwise everything was great and if i return t yogya again, i'm totally sure i will choose novotel again.

nice visit”

We find Novotel in Yogyakarta giving better value and service than Novotel in UK and Europe. The Business center is extremely helpful in helping us changing flights, booking tour, booking ticket (getting front row), reserve car to airport, etc. The reception gave early breakfast meal. My mom has special need due to wheelchair. The room was adequate. The location is good, next to shopping mall and museum, although a little off from the main traditional market and shopping street.

When I and my family stayed at the Novotel for the second time. I feel the quality of service is well maintained, the cleanliness and the service is very pleasant. The hotel is very strategic in my opinion, especially from my Mother's house, so I could easily visit her anytime. The hotel is like any other Accor hotels, clean, professional and friendly service was very pleasant. Great beds even on the type of "twin", added comfort to stay at this hotel. Service was very friendly, professional staff is also very pleasant. The part that is rather boring is the breakfast menu. For this hotel brands should be able to provide a more classy breakfast with many variants. Food is very standard, less variation although it tastes good.
