Oia Mare Villas”
My stay at Oia Mare Villas was incredible. The staff went above and beyond to meet me at the local bus station in Oia and carry my luggage (which was not lightweight) to the hotel. The staff introduced themselves by first name and were consistently readily available to answer any questions. The breakfast buffet in the morning was delicious and had a great variety in comparison to other hotels where breakfast is included and extremely limited. The pool area and view from the Oia Mare Villas is unmatched and incredibly gorgeous. An added bonus is the donkey rides from Ammoudi Bay stop right by the entrance to the villas!

Picturesque hotel in the heart of Oia”
We had a great stay at Oia Mare. Oia Mare is a wonderful, romantic botique hotel. My husband and I stayed in a Superior Suite. We had outstanding views; we could watch the sun set from our balcony! The room was spacious and clean; the bath was clean as well (very important attribute to me in any hotel stay) and was supplied with good towels. The bed was comfortable-- not too hard or soft. The hotel staff was friendly and handled issues promptly. (We had some ants in our room and they addressed it right away). The hotel offered nice touches like a complementary bottle of wine for us to enjoy when watching the sunset. The location is fantastic. The villas are located half way down the cliff. The hotel seems to be just far enough away from the congested main pedestian thoroughfares; therefore, it is quiter. In just a few minutes walk you can reach shops or restaurants. The flip side though is that the hotel may be tough to reach for those who have physical challenges; there are a lot of stairs and switchbacks to the main street. We did not use the pool, but did use the community deck chairs--a great place to hang out for the day. The continental breakfast was okay; cold foods were much better than hot foods. If you are driving, try to park at the Hellenic Post Office. It is the lot that is closest to the Best Western (where you check in); the Oia Mare porter will then meet you to help you with your bags. The Oia Mare is a great place to relax and recharge; I can't wait to go back.

We were so excited to see the surroundings when we arrived at Oia Mare Villas. The views are simply awesome, very friendly staff right from the porter who helped carrying our luggages to the receptionist named Vickie and Margarita. They just can't wait to tell you every single details of this beautiful Oia. Sitting next to the pool side with the lovely view of the Aegean sea right in front of us while having our breakfast was so enjoyable.... Oia Mare Villas, the cave houses! Amazing location with top rated staff. You can't find a better location and top notch service. ”
Location, location, location... The most amazing views with the best sunset anywhere. Private and cleanest well kept villas. People line up for hours outside private villas trying to capture sunset ,boats below packed with limited views. No need where stay has the most desired view. Because there is no access for autos, only many steps to get in or out, you will want to have good non slip footwear and get a little exercise in before coming to Oia. Well worth it ( priceless). Don't worry about luggage or shuttle they take care of it, just contact them and they handle it. There staff will amaze you, especially ( the one they call the mule) he took our luggage down on arrival and up the step steps out without loosing his breath. If you don't want to do steps, then you will miss out of what really is Santorini. Young and old along with people using canes handled it. Along these wide steps are shops,views, and restaurants, you can stop catch a breather and then March on.

Leah was the best staff we've met at Oia Mare Villa! Hope we'll see her again next time we visit. The check-in location was hard to find and the trip from the check-in point the hotel was somewhat adventurous. However, the trip was worth it as the hotel provides an excellent view. Room was huge as well. :)

Not as fantastic as what they say”
It was bittersweet. We booked the hotel because we wanted to splurge on a hotel will amazing view and at the same time experience the 'cave' like rooms. When we got there, we were showed a different hotel from what we gathered from pictures in AGODA. We were told that there were actually 2 Oia Mare-s, 1 is situated facing caldera (no awarding winning amazing sunset, crazily steep and narrow steps to our villa but much larger in size). We were scoot off to the Oia Mare at caldera because we booked it not knowing its not the amazing Oia Mare we heard/read/knew about. SO BEWARE! We were not happy, added to the fact that I was 3mths pregnant (dimly lit narrow steps n pregnant woman don't mix). We wanted a room at the original Oia Mare. the manager (we assume) was kind enough to squeeze 2 rooms out when its already fully booked Oia Mare after a 45mins back and forth discussion. We were happy, until.... The rooms, were basically a showroom for Ikea (we were fine, but wait, didn't we pay a 4star hotel price?) but it also meant it fell short of the price we paid. The bathroom shower is the worst we've ever seen. The handheld shower water pressure was crazily weak and we the faucets couldn't adjust the water temperature, its either scalding hot or freezing cold however u turn it. The rooms were not very clean, we found strands of hair around our beds and the blue blanket provided was VERY QUESTIONABLE because there's a notice saying they do their laundry once in a few days but didn't say if they change when new guests arrive. The pool... is not like the picture. Its dirty and the paint was peeling and there were some pipes/hoses around the pool. The poolside was very unkempt. Stay here if you don't a choice. Don't stay here if you can afford even better hotels.

Perfect view”
The location is a bit far away, you have to walk many stairs up and down to the hotel, my hubs said he walked like a donkey. But it worth!! The room is perfect view in oia, very nice sunset, but I cannot watch the whole sunset in my room, so better ask for the hotel of the sunset view room, but hotel provide the nice area for sunset! Breakfast is nice, staff is nice!! Oh yes!! The staff is super strong to carry 2 big luggages for the stairs!!! They are just the god of oia hahaha Enjoy your trip

The hotel is exactly as the picture. Its clean and comfortable and perched on the cliff. Probably the best around its area in Oia. There are many steps though but definitely worth tge climb. The staff are amazing. Run like a family owned business. I still remember a night when I asked for assistance for opening my wine which the cork is broken. The staff gave me a free bottle instead as the wine is impossible to open.Everyday just gathering around the pool is really relaxing as we takes in the amazing view.

Location - excellent - great view and Oia is a little quieter than Fira...and has better sunset/sunrise view. Breakfast - very good - nice variety and well prepared Not for elderly or handicapped...be ready to climb the steps. Only complaint - one side of queen bed up against wall so you need to climb over partner or up from foot of bed.

Withholding our money!!”
Due to COVID19 we are unable to fly like many of us to our dream holiday to Santorini , Greece in July 2020! We had booked two accomodations- Oia Mare Villas and GALAXY Suites. When we approached the management at OIA Mare Villas about a refund , they said they could only extend our time to the end of October 2020! Its now the middle of september 2020 and we still cant fly-in fact we cannot go further than 5km from our house due to our state being in a total disaster ! ! So common sense and intelligence would think that Oia Mare Villas will give us our $2000 back ???On the other hand, GALAXY suites were more than happy to refund our $3,000 dollars - ?????interesting isnt it? Oia Mare Villas management will now enjoy our hard earned money- what you are forgetting is that COVID19 will pass and since you claim that your livelihood is tourism- our livelihood is working for our money! When we are allowed to travel again you might find that people will not visit you because of your greed. We have not recommended you to anyone however we have totally recommended GALAXY Suites for their sincerity and kind heart! Ioannis from GALAXY suites was so understanding and empathetic and we cannot wait to book GALAXY again! Luckily for them we still have an urge to visit Santorini! Shame on you OIA Mare Villas! I hope you enjoy our $2000 that we worked so hard for!! So selfish!

Dear Chris , We understand your franstration but we wish to make it clear to you that we are not withholding your hard earned money . You chose to pay for your reservation through Agoda and , which has diferent strategy in refunds . If you had booked directly with us , rest assured that we would had found another solution for you . Also , it is Government's orders to offer vouchers for future visit until the end of October 2021 and NOT until the end of October 2020 , as you claim . So it is not our decision not to refund you . We have made many refunds to Australian citizens , who had booked directly with us , as we can handle their requests easier , than making the reservations through 03rd parties such as Agoda .We really hope that you will be able to visit us within 2021 , and so you will see for yourself that your money was well spent and not lost . Till then , stay safe !

Old style hotel with great view”
It's an old fashion nice hotel, decorated well, but all the area, houses and hotel was dig inside the stones, you'll feel like you're inside a cave, well furnished. Service was not bad. The great thing about this hotel was the view and it was near to the shopping area.

Great place to stay”
This was a truly unique hotel built into the cliff with incredible views. There are many steps to get to the place but everyone of them is worth it. It will be difficult for old people, but I'm sure you will want to go to that part of the island anyway!
