Planning a long stay in Thailand? Book Koh Chang Serviced Apartments

"I came here with my boyfriend on holiday, and although we are not really in the "backpacker" scene anymore, we wanted to see all parts of Koh Chang. We booked a very cheap room at blue sky, and it was a bit too "budget" for my tastes. The host offered us an uprage for 100 baht a night. That was the best 100 baht ive ever spent! We had our own detatched bungalow literally two meters from the ocean. These bungalows came with a hammock, two very nice lounge chairs, and a swing nearby. It truely felt like our own private beach. The room is not luxurious but the low price allowed us to extend our stay which as far more important. We stayed three other places on Koh Chang and nowhere else had the serenity or privacy of having that ocean access. The staff were very sweet and helful, beer, water, coffee sold on site, and all the attractions of lonely beach are a 5 minute walk but far enough away that when you come back to your bungalow you have only peace and quiet. "Cons: elevators in koh chang hotels are a rare occasion so plan accordingly. Also there is a lot of trips that can be planned from this location. Try the 4 or 5 islands, it is a great day adventure, cheapest price we found for the 4 island was 600 baht+200 baht for the national park. National park not so fun but every day trip pass by there. Also exchange places and atms are everywhere so dont be afraid of running out of money. December is a nice time to visit the island as it is not so hot but warm enough to swim and relax. Totally happy we visit this beautiful place."

"This is probably my favorite place that I've stayed at while in Thailand, and definitely my favorite on Koh Chang. The manager of this place is a friendly british man who is very accommodating. The receptionist is a lovely woman, seems genuinely nice. All the rooms are situated on a hill, (the hill is at the top of a mountain) and my room is near the top. Its a bit of a hike to walk up the driveway and all the steps, so if you are physically disabled or have bad knees this is probably not a place you want to stay. There are 3 or 4 dogs who live at this place, and they are all very friendly. There is one black dog who really likes air conditioning, so he hangs out near the top rooms and tries to befriend you in order to hang out in your air conditioned room. He's a very good dog, though, and my boyfriend and I don't mind him hanging out with us. If you're not a dog person just ignore him and he wont bother you. There is a gang of 5 - 6 puppies, maybe 12 months old, who will nip at your heels and chase you for a little bit when you walk out of the resort and down the mountain to go into town. They're adorable, but might put little teeth marks in your pants, as puppies are prone to do. At the bottom of the hill that the hotel is on, there is a little cafe right across the street. They serve delicious bacon sandwiches and iced coffee, among other things. The hotel restaurant is closed, I think just for the season, but maybe permanently. This is a great place. If I return to Koh Chang in the future I'll want to stay here again."
