Highly Recommend”
We stayed for 5 nights and I couldn't highly recommend enough Windsor California Copacabana. The overall hotel is modern, very clean, comfortable and has a very relaxing vibe. The staff are five stars! Very friendly, helpful and polite. We stayed in the 10th floor because we wanted a proper view of the beach and it was beautiful. The room itself is very spacious and a very comfortable bed. Breakfast is great, there is a lot to choose from. Roof top pool is small but amazing view from the top. The hotels location is a stone throw away from the beach, less than 10min walk from the subway and many restaurants/bars around the area. I would definitely stay again!

Great Hotel”
I love the rooms at this hotel, modern and spacious. Staff are very helpful and speak English. Short cab ride to Ipanema and Leblon where all the nice restaurants and bars. I always come back here when in Rio.

Great location at the centre of the CopaCabana beach. Beach facing upper floor rooms recommended. Ours was on the corner of the 14th floor & we could see Christ the redeemer behind the hotel from the balcony as well as the glorious beach. Hotel had good security, important every where in Rio. Good price compared to Hilton etc. Will use again.

The location is excellent! The staff is excellent! The rooms are modern and nice. The only complaints: There was hair in the bathroom when I arrived. The room has a musty/moldy smell. I think it comes from the curtains. The humid air blows through the curtains everyday. They should be cleaned regularly. Other than that, it is a very pleasant place to stay! Directly across from the beach. The staff is very nice!

Lovely hotel! ”
I have stayed in quite a few Rio hotels in this bracket and I can say the best thing about this hotel is the rooms! They really do feel like 5* not 4*. The staff is super nice and helpful. The pool and gym are really nice but small as is the case with the vast majority of Rio hotels! For me it was a better overall experience that both Windsor Miramar and Portobay.

Windor California doesn't disappoint”
Excellent location, staff and rooms - definitely worth paying the extra for a room with a view. Pool is okay but shallow and small but beyond that no issues. Great for those wanting to be in the heart of things

Good place to stay in the middle of Copacabana beach”
Very nice hotel and staff, clean and good value for money. Most staff speak Spanish and English, in addition to Portuguese. Many restaurants around and easy to catch a taxi or Uber to go different places. Nice view from the 15th floor bar and pool.

Broken bed - zero view”
Got a room with a broken bed where I literally rolled out during the night… not comfy at all. Moreover the standard rate means, you look at the atrium. I get that the do not sell the ocean view side for cheap but if the hotel is almost empty, why not grant the guests better rooms? I feel treated a bit badly due to the good price, which was offered by a booking platform. But why is it my fault that I choose the best available offer? Additionally the breakfast was somehow not included as advertised

Best Location Poor Management ”
Every thing we did was a no..Had 1 beer at the pool that I brought the staff got quite angry with me .. Turned on my music they told me I was not aloud to listen to my own music although there was no one else there the food was poor quality tilapia for fish a fresh water fish although we are at the ocean ..I would not recomend this hotel to anyone although it has the best location … We left our sign on the door to clean the room it is 12:39 right now and the room has still not been Cleaned … Not good the lady had her cart in front of our door but did not clean the room …

No Hotel for Singles and Gays”
That was the first and last time we are in this hotel. For the price and hotel category you will be absolutely disappointed. The staff is unkind and obsessed with their house rules. Nothing is done here to accommodate the guest and enable him to have a great stay. This hotel is not gay friendly. If you are looking for a tolerant hotel on the Copacopana, you will be extremely disappointed here. After check-in you get wristbands and when you go into the hotel you are checked like in prison. We were not even allowed to take a friend up to the room for 5 minutes to make some plans for the day. Conclusion: overpriced, arch-conservative, unfriendly, absolutely not to be recommended. I hope I could help other guests to choose the right hotel with these review and not as disappointed as we were

Great location, right opposite the beach. Spotlessly clean. Good variety at breakfast, all freshly prepared. Equipped comfortable rooms and bathrooms.

Be aware - if you want a view of the Copa Cabana ensure you get a room above the 3rd floor. We had to complain and they eventually changed us to the 10th floor. Other than that, all good.
