Does not live up to the name”

Here is a small list of things to improve upon: 1. Wifi is very slow ~ less than 10Mbps on average 2. Very little drawer space in room 3. Lighting is extremely poor in the room 4. The rooftop pool area - has a very poor atmosphere, i.e., no music or local radio station with commercials, no night ambiance, the old metal chairs make an awful sound when sitting or getting up. 5. The gym has no weights! 6. Food menu at roof top pool area is very poor, not enough appetizers variety.

Great location, good breakfast selection”

Booked 10 months ago through Agoda only to find out that booking was not paid. Hotel was not really helpful at the beginning but after complaining, we were assisted to contact Agoda and issue has been resolved after 3 hours of waiting.

Longest check-in ever and other problems”

It took 40min to check-in, we got there after 5pm and room was not ready and they were overbooked. The Wi-Fi is bad. The AC makes an annoying noise and they don’t even have an umbrella when it’s raining.

Disappointing for a “Windsor””

Pros - location Cons - Old and run down. Poor wifi. Slow reception service. Predominantly cater for large tour groups and lack the customer service one would expect from “Windsor” We are staying at Hilton Copacabana and it’s 100 times better!

Relaxing oasis away from Carnival chaos”

We enjoyed our stay at the Windsor excelsior immensely. And would stay again. The price was a little high but it was during carnival. You have to pay 15$ per day for each device which was probably our only issue during our stay. The staff were very friendly but surprisingly lacking in English for an international hotel, however, this seems to be just rio and Brazil in general.

New Years even at Copocabana”

We were family of five with teens, what a wonderful hotel and perfect location ...right in the middle of Copacabana beach, right next to the Copacabana Palace ....they put on a fantastic party at the roof top on New Years Eve, we will remember this event for ever ...it was so spectacular, words cant describe

Great Hotel Staff and Location”

Stayed for a week during the carnival. Overall, great experience - Staff, room, location, breakfast and the various hotel amenities were excellent. I would recumbent this hotel to friend and will consider staying there on my next vacation in Rio.

Would love to come back”

Warm thanks to the friendly and helpful hotel staff for making our stay so enjoyable. We spent two days in Rio during the world cup and would love to come back to the city and to this hotel. We loved every minute there.

Pleasent stay”

We liked this hotel, the view is perfect, but you be see it only for one day, then you have to see the city & be at the beach. is near by many facilities, if you like to walk, you can walk to Sugar Loaf too, is about 30min. you can use the metro (train), to go many places, it's really cheap, no need to hire a tour company. you'll safe allot of money. There are many super markets, barber shops, Restaurants & cafes around the hotel, the very good ones you have to walk 10-15min.

don't know what the regular rooms are like. because we were upgraded to the best room in the house, we had a great value for our money.

Great location. Kettle , coffee tea and milk should be allocated to each room for this 4 star rating hotel. Only reception staff could speak English and were helpful. Bathrooms should be upgraded - quite old. Not much food for vegetarians during breakfast.

Small Hotel conveniently located”

Bit noisy rooms, small, no bath but rest ok, clean. Wide breakfast buffet selection. Friendly staff.
